Rodder's Roundtable / axle tube is leaking
May 26, 2014, 10:18:15 AM
the axle tube, on my 96 ford F=150 is leaking/dripping gear oil. It is the right side, where the tube goes into the cast iron pumpkin. How do I fix/repair this?

Glen we still have dumb phones. There is a web site: my volt .com  that has those as well. It also came with 3 years of ON STAR. She was going to wash it today because it has some dirt on it.  I may wax it while it is charging. I asked the REC about the lower rate and a rebate. He laughed at me but was going to check in to it.  The full charge is suppose to be around 40 miles but so far only at 34. She did make it to work and back and still had 11 miles.

Good luck on the mileage on batterys only.  Will be interesting.  We have Nissan Leaf owners complaining on mileage.  The Leaf car is all electric, no other power. AZ heat is ruff on the Nissan Leaf battery power is what I have read.

The Volt is all electric drive with fossil fuel engine for lectric power as needed.......  IF I remember what I read on the Volt.  The Volt makes sense if you have a short commute or a longer one where you can plug in at work.  IF you need to travel 1000 miles , fire up the engine.

Kinda reverse/ different  of the PrIus operation, yet similar. Volt is sure better looking car than the PrIus is.  Seems like the PrIus runs on lectric up to 22 mph? Then fossil fuel engine 'seamlessly" engages ?

Are the Gubmint $$$$$ rebates on the Volt still in place?
in the prius in electric mode it is 25, but in eco mode it is 45... i drive one as a taxi, and I love it. 47 to 49 mpg everynite.

Quote from: "WZ JUNK"I am recovering from back surgery that was a week ago today.  All is well and for the first time in 14 years or so, there is no pain in my legs and lower back.  I think I have more plastic and stainless steel, in my lower back, than I have bone now.  I will have a slow recovery but that is okay.  I am spending a lot of time walking the streets in my neighborhood.  I told the neighbors to call my wife if they see me laying in the street.   I have fallen and I can not get up.

John
sounds what my back doctor is suggesting, L4/5 area. I  go in thursday for another injection. I had the last one 7 months ago, and have been hurting since early august.
What kind of time frame for going back to work?

Quote from: "Glen"I got tired of everyone asking if I was going to put a lift in so I did.  Never understood the fascination with having one, but its growing on me.

if you decide you don't like it or want it, i will take it

Quote from: "Crosley"recent winds in AZ have been heavy.

An old HF wind mill I bought years ago must have over sped RPM and blew it's self apart.  Last year my wife repainted the wind mill, looked good till last winds

I welded it back together today. Straightened up the blades, spins fairly true

the after pics, looks like my windmill
