Rodder's Roundtable / Need Source-46 Ford whl. cyl.
July 09, 2004, 03:53:59 PM
all, do any of you know of a source for 46 Ford car front wheel cylinders. Kits won't help as one has a stripped line port. Sam

Quote from: "WZ JUNK"Just got home and it is about 11 PM.  We had to make a couple of roadside repairs but nothing big.  My brother did some asphalt reshaping on I 270 near St Louis.

Great friends and a great time but I miss those of you that did not get to come.

I've got crumbs of asphalt on top of the intake and air cleaner. I haven't looked underneath yet. WZ, you probably check the Mongoose for pavement as well. WZ neglected to mention that I also reshaped a front fender on a speedbump at the Indy Airport when picking up my son, "Next Junk" all in all, a fine weekend. Mo.

Quote from: "Dirk35"It was great meeting you Sam and Sumner. You guys take any pictures? I brought the camera, but didnt really find much worth shooting. I did take time to check out how a few were wired though.

Anyway, didnt find much worth taking a pic of, till we were almost out the gate. And in came a 30ish (28-31) coupe, that was super chopped and channeled, with slicks on the back, and the shifter sticking through the hole in the roof. It was similare to the T coupe with the  silver stickers in the rear window that kept driving the grounds the entire time I was there.

Quote from: "WZ JUNK"1 FAT GMC will be here tomorow as we are putting a transmission in his vehicle.

That doesn't sound like he is having the greatest of times.

It let go at speed on the Oklahoma turpike with him just ahead of me.  I just washed all the transmission fluid off of my old truck.   We should have him taken care of and on the road tomorrow.

Tech Archive / MII Swaybar
March 09, 2004, 12:27:20 PM
I have a 48 Chev 1/2 ton with a Heidts Mustang 11 crossmember. My lower control arms are the econo tubular style(square tubing) and the swaybar links mount to brackets that bolt to the lower arms. I use links common to Nova subframes(straight shaft with double rubber grommets top and bottom). When the weight is off the truck everything looks fine. When at ride height the links are at a sharp angle and interfere with the steering at the max steer orientation. The sway bar ends are to long. I installed the sway bar mounts as close as possible to the rack "c" notch in the frame(the only place I could mount it). Anyway, the handling was noticeably improved but the Heidts universal swab bar just didn't work on my installation. The link angle was so severe that over two years(est. 15k miles) I actually sheared two links.I removed my sway bar. I can probably alter the angle of the lower link mount an improve things. Anyway, good luck.  Sam

Rodder's Roundtable / 32 Truck Door Hinge

Brother, try Bob Drake Ford Hot Rod and Restoration Parts.  They don't show hinges in their current catalog(#18) but they do list two pages of Companies that handle their parts. You may be able to get a referral or link to someone else. Here's the address.

Rodder's Roundtable / Mind Boggling #2
February 18, 2004, 09:19:08 AM
I am 51 years old. I am a corporate safety officer for a fast growing chemical manufacturer. I drive a 48 Chev. pickup and I'm building a 26 T modified. Past rods have been a previous 48 Chev. pickup, 32' ford roadster(highboy) and a 26 touring. All have been chev powered. I also play with rocket cars(shoe box size). Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass fear me. Finally, brother and I(WZ Junk) have logged alot of miles in Streetrods. We drive what we build or anybody elses. I can't imagine retirement.
