That one has it right ! looks almost like a factory job .

If you look at the gap at the back of the drip rail trim, that was done with the back of a 4 door roof, and rear door window frames.

I was pleased to see it was all Nova. They did alright with the body line considering how little doctoring and much splicing as is there. Kudos to somebody for making it real. :D

Heres a couple other little views of it:

American rodder had a 32 ford fleet side truck article with an artist rendition once , then years later they had an article on one someone had built .

I think I get it. And I like it! Makes sense. It could have a short tailgate over the spare or mount the tire on a tall gate. Nifty    idea for sure, CK.  :)  Hope this somewhat resembles your vision.

sorry for not replying earlier , I just saw this post . Yes that is the idea except the back end of the box has to go back further . If the back end was to go back as far as a coupe body does at the bottom  I think you would have it . Thanks for doing that photoshop  , and sorry for missing it for so long !

Is that something that was put together by that shop in Mexico (that was featured on the  Velocity TV channel) that builds funeral hearses? I caught a picture of their warehouse on one of the shows and it was loaded with fiberglass roof sections that they were using. There warehouse also had some replica-like '32 ford coupe bodies shells in it. One of their shows had them cutting and widening one of these bodies and putting it on a full-sized pick-up rolling chassis. The way they were working with this body and their funeral roof sections had me thinking that they might be the manufacturers of these fiberglass pieces. If I could find out more about that coupe body I could build another S10 chassis "clown Car". GPster

That Nova coach is pretty neat, Carnut. CK yeah I didn't know how long to make it. Tip of tailgate is directly vertical from end of coupe trunk. I think.

How about a Fairmont Ranchero, Here's a * Nesbitt proposal.

The 1981 FOX platform Ford Fairmont Futura based Durango I designed and proposed to Ford Marketing and Product Planning in 1978 as a replacement for the aging LTD II based Ranchero...Jim Stephenson built the prototype Durango and they were built to order for Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealers by National Coach in California...National Coach selected the name Durango for the conversion.

THAT is what I saw at a local swap meet years ago on a trailer for sale. Grey. Think I took 3 pics and I'll put em up when I find em. It was a decent specimen and I recall being puzzled by the nameplate. I am kinda lukewarm on it. I do like the Fairmont body well enough. Seems like I can remember the conversion work being a little hokey.

Now, how about we put a Fox Mustang nose on it?

I just don't see any way around that being a downgrade in looks. Might get a fella in trouble passin thru Ford country.

Why not Capri instead?  That tailgate is so awful though. Cringe.

Yeah, looks like they could've spent more time on the tailgate. Isn't Durango a Chryler product?
