That makes more sense than what I picked up off the results page on the scta forum

He will have to clarify this answer but there was a problem with them being able to get there timing slip for that run.

They should be headed home this evening or first thing in the morning.

I'm just back from B-ville. Sumner ran the 213 pass just before the course closed for the night. It was a full 5 mile run and he was way down track for the tow back. There was a little smoke from the engine bay so the hood top was removed down track to investigate. By the time we made it back to the timing tower there was no one there. SO no timing slip was picked up at that time. I left early this (Thur) AM so I don't know if they were able to get the slip. I hope so because Sumner has to have it signed off by the starter  to get that license.

Yes, he got the slip signed off in the morning.

After draining the oil and opening the filter Thursday AM it was decided to load the car to save the engine from major damage.  There wasn't large debris but enough small metal flakes for some concern.

thanks for updates.  When ppl get home and settled down , sleep some....  look forward for additional updates on Hooley.

We enjoyed the time there.  I stayed out of the way, took some fotos.

As I told Hooley , I live vicariously thru him as he runs the car at these speeds.  I hope in 2014 to visit the Ohio mile if Hooley runs.   I need to get over to the Texas runs too.  Never been

Did he let his license lapse and cause a redo or did I miss who was driving the car before? I seem to have missed something along the way.

It was Sumner driving, he has never had a license or driven the car.

Sumner driving and doing rookie license runs was getting multiple things done.

Hooleys new engine combo needs to be data logged and sneak up on power.  Hooley admited he would get in the 974 and blast away on the loud pedal.

Sumner has new plans to change his lakester car to V8 power now.  Sum needs to get licensed to run his lakester.

It all worked purty well. Sum gets his license runs, the 974 is run at lower boost levels to data log stuff.

One other thing I didn't mention earlier....Wednesday, I think, Hooley's car was chosen to honor a wounded veteran for the Wounded Warrior program.  They snapped a couple of quick pictures of the crew and car just as we were about to leave for a run.  We met the veteran, thanked him for his sacrifice, and Hooley gave him a t-shirt later on.  He looked like he may have been a victim of an explosion.

I left the salt late Wednesday morning to see family in Grants Pass, OR on Thursday. Left there for Spokane, WA Friday early to visit more cousins. Got there late afternoon. Spending today in Spokane. Moving on to Cut Bank, MT where I grew up tomorrow, Need to be home by the end of next week.

I'm happy to hear that Sum got the long course license and that the car handled good. Hope the engine is wounded too badly. We got a lot done in the last couple weeks and it was a all a great success by all accounts.

Hope everyone has made it home safely. I'm 4500 miles into my adventure and will probably do another 2000 or so.

Kenny, hike down under the railroad bridge or go to the junkyard you can see to the west.

Charlie as you go past Kila Mt honk the horn to my kid there

Safe journey to both of you. See you when you get back

Hey Ken,

I asked for the OBT Suite tonight at the Super 8 and guess what....I got it.

Had a great drive over from Spokane and had time to go out to the old ranch this after noon.I'm gonna snoop around here a bit tomorrow morning and then head south and east. I've that rooms are scarce along US2 in eastern MT and all of ND due to the oil boom and construction.
