Quote from: "enjenjo"Shelby had her prom saturday, she took my Marlin.
VERY cool!!! I'll bet most kids at her prom thought the Marlin was some kind of spaceship!

I put a Unisteer on my 33 and, frankly, it's one of the best things I did to the car.

I do like the 32 shells and grilles, but they are way too common. I don't like the later "A" shells at all. Got any other options?

The thought process these kids have annoys me to no end. I swear, they are like a bunch of antiquers. "Oh, that's not period correct". I've been a rodder long before many of these kids were even born. Hotrodding is about improving the performance and looks of a car. I gotta laugh when these guys invest a bunch of money in a flathead that wouldn't outrun a Toyota. Disc brakes and modern tire technology are strictly avoided. Build what you want, don't tell me what I should build.

I believe that most of those lost parts, somehow, end up in a parallel dimension..

I'd make a template. Mount one side where it pleases you, looking at the photo you posted. Use some point like the fender line. Flip the template over, mark the other sound and then drill the nessessary holes.

The washers do work very well. I use CRC Battery Protector.

I guess increased government fees are the wave of the future. As tax revenues have dropped, the government has resorted to other means to raise funding. We might as well get used to it. The sad part is,you know * well that when the property tax base recovers, all these fees will remain as they are now. Nobody loves money more than politicians.

I used to work on strictly VW's for many years. Rusted brake lines were very common, usually down by where the drivers feet sat. Folks would get in with wet shoes, the water would drain onto the area where the brake line ran by the pedals. It would wet down the build up uf sand and then eventually break. I made alot of money off those over the years.

I am a firm believer in K.I.S.S.. If I were to build a daily driver from an early car, it would be a carburated small block with HEI. A/C and radio would be the only options. If you had a Mustang II front end, I'd go with PS. Use only over the counter stuff on the car. You'd end up with a car that is reliable and you could fix it on the side of the road. Just for cheap insurance, I'd carry a spare HEI module. I have done that for years and never had to use it.

Rodder's Roundtable / Tire life
August 03, 2010, 10:12:11 AM
I have seen this a number of times. We had aDodge van at work that rarely got used. It blew out a number of Michelins as it sat in the lot. The tires had probably 90-95% wear life left, but failed due to age.

I'd go with a good copper/brass replacement. They can be easily repaired in the furure.

Rodder's Roundtable / No Wonder GM is in trouble
July 28, 2010, 11:53:21 AM
About a year ago, I was talking to a recently retired Ford Exec at a car show. He said that there had been a shakeup at Fords' management and that I should watch for the changes to show up in they're products. At the time, I didn't pay too much attention. But I have seen a big change. The cars are alot nicer and the quality seems to be much better. After owning a long of GM vehicles, my next new car will probably be a Ford product.
