Quote from: "Crosley"this is a historic week for me...  first and last time in Austin Texas.  the place sucks ( sorry if live there or like the place)

Freeways have little or no lights for night driving,f'''ing toll roads, no a straight f'''ing road to be had here.   Side roads have little or no lights on them for night driving.  How did people drive these roads when lights on cars sucked?

Some how I missed an exit that I now know is not marked as my GPS is telling me...  I end up on a toll road for 1.5 miles and have to pay 75 cents to get off the f'''ing toll road.  There was more BS just trying to back on to the I-35 freeway to get to my hotel.

Just remember, tis better to be * off than * on &  you'll be ok!

LOL That's what headlights are for. I don't remember seeing any lights along I-17 from Phoenix to Flagstaff. Also less pollution of the night sky and you can probably even see the stars clearly.

I was not between citys ..I am not talking about in the middle of no where.. kripes, pay attention.

I know you weren't between cities!  I was paying attention   I just have to chuckle at the thought of you being so * about not having all kinds of lighting. It shows how you're used to the lots of big city lighting. Oh and we don't have toll roads here in Mi either. :P

Got fence changed around, moved sheep and goats, may have sold the old JD A that is sitting out back rotting away (long story, too much anger pent up on that one). Sold the '52 (well, have a down payment and a drop dead date).

Moved the panel and my '54, got wheels out for '41 to swap so we can take the pair back to Enjenjo...picked up stuff in the field and the yard. Gonna get some scrap metal loaded. Never heard back from a guy about taking one of the cabs so I guess our deal is dead or at least in a coma...

Eating lunch at 3:25 pm...got more to do but it started to rain.

The short block is finished. I'm redoing brake and clutch lines from the masters down. I didn't have very good ideas when I did some of this stuff. Everything that irritates me is being changed. It won't be a show car but it will be neater. Did I mention I hate brake fluid. I had to go get a pilot bearing yesterday. I couldn't get the old one out of the crank. Nobody in town had one. I got to make a little 2 hour jaunt to get one. Makes more stories in the end. I hope everyone had a good holiday.

Wired lights on a trailer today, put it out front for sale. Packed some boxes for shipping, and worked on the 32 for a while.

Well my idea about re-working the shelves in my garage did not happen. Saturday was taken up with the town's Christmas parade and was enjoyable just watching our grandkids reaction, Our daughter=in-law is working on a doctorate degree and needed some time to be alone and work on it so she went home early Friday by herself. That left our son and two grandkids without a car so I drove them home today(to Cincinnati) and will drive home tomorrow by myself. Our daughter's family left early today so my son-in-law would be able to park in front of his TV at homefor the football festivities. I did get the Jeepster off the jackstands and the hood and fenders bolted on so it can sit outside when ever. Driving home tomorrow and next weekend at daughter's for grand daughter's Chritmas Show and grand daughter watching on Saturday pretty well uses up next weekend. I will have Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday but my planning doesn't cover all the possibilities. If I say what I'm going to do I won't. GPster

Worked on my 40 coupe body Wed -Sat. A buddy came over & helped me, we got all the filler work done & 1st coat of blocking primer on. Now I can sand that down & fix the places we thought were fixed that weren't. Did I ever tell you I hate body work?

got some of my shop cleaned up...

trimmed up the yard grass for the last time till february ,  still need to trim some tree limbs.

installed a few hundred christmas lites in the north yard...  will do the south yard this next  weekend with a few lites...  I bought some of the LED lights,  will see how well the LED stuff works.

Sometime in december  I will do the VW Jetta timing belt - water pump change.  THe Jetta needs rear brakes too.... you would think the  rear  brakes would go longer than 92k miles

I've put rear pads on several of those when the original fronts were still good. Most other front drive cars are opposite , fronts wear 2-1 over rears.

My OEM front brakes are in nice shape...  I must give VW credit here, the brakes on this Jetta are nice and wear very well.

The 32 is running again but not finished. I still have to bleed the clutch slave and install the grill and hood. The 342 sounds good. No leaks, no strange noises.

This big ugly silver truck turned up in Scooter's driveway on Friday night about midnight, so on Saturday we started to get the business parts removed.

Friday night, it started snowing in Mississippi. I took some pictures Saturday morning. It was a light dusting of snow.

A street rod is a vehicle made before 1949 that is modified with modern stuff: bigger motors; newer trans; updated suspension, front & rear; a/c.
Following is a street rod plus definition: No known definition because it changes.

I spent monday and tuesday rebuilding the front axle on a SD Ford to push snow. 2" of snow by 9 last night, then it warmed up to 40 degrees, rained, and melted all the snow. Now we have 50 mph winds, and it's cold again. It's like I lived in Arizona.
