Quote from: "kb426"I've been cleaning and sorting stuff in the garage.   My plan is to not screw up this time.

You should have a LITTLE more room now.......

Congratulations Al and Terra--when do we get to see some pictures?

Spent Saturday and Sunday putting new windows in Father-in-laws breezeway.  Drove home in a torrnetial downpour--got home--nice for about an hour and here come another storm only worse.
Worked on ragtop yesterday--installing new valve seals, greased rear springs, lowered tire pressure.  Also started cutting door panel material to cover inside of trunk lid.  Just getting it ready for cruise to Indy.  Drove the 55 again---sure is fun.

20 yrs ago I used to help a friend run a 10 second mustang at the drags. He moved away and I raced my dragster, quit after '97 season.I get a phone call last friday . My friend has moved back to town. We are taking his 10 second station wagon to the track on friday, and I can hardly wait!

Busted foot mended OK, still a bit painfull to pull on sock, but I'll live with that.

But now I busted sumpin else.  Not a bone but a bloody spring!

Redrilled centre bolt holes to move axle forward and it worked fine.  Took the old gal for a test drive and loud kinda snap noise from down back.  Can't see anything broken then noticed axle seems to be crooked.  Closer inspection sring has broken thru old centre bolt hole.  *!

I guess that's so much for tryin to take shortcuts.  Now I gotta pull the springs out and get new ones made.

But of course today's 'honey do' was to deal with Ma In Law's need to get a new car.  So off to the local dealer and a whole afternoon later, she's got new car, I've still got broken car and we are all happy.

I'm feeling more and more like a Team Smart member every day.

Drags was fun ! 10.40 @129 , off pace but good considering the absolutely new concrete starting pad. When there's more rubber down we will throw more motor at this starting line ,its pretty green right now. there was 150HP more N2O in the system but the track wouldn't stick it so probably next week. Not bad for a 3700lb station wagon!
