Thanks, and I know Matt loves the rims also. and we wish we had the 65  front suspension compared to the I beam.

Yes KB, Vickie loves it. Not thrilled with the straight axle wandering issue but still very happy with the truck. When it warms up some more we will pull the camper out and take some pictures of that combo.

There is a place in town here that is taking the truck cab (I saw it on a 67) and placing it directly on to a crown vic chassis . Did not seem all that complicated . Saw the bare cab installed on the vic chassis at a local car show last week .

We have a friend with the CV under his 65 and he said he would have saved a lot of headaches and money if he would have put the Mustang II front end in it. The CV is too wide for these trucks so you have to buy wheels with deep back spacing. Limits your choices on wheels and makes you change out the rear at the same time.

I blame it on the old country roads that are sloped to the ditches here as smooth as a alligators back. I am told the Falcon van will handle even worse.

Well as you can imagine I did not acquire the name WZ JUNK randomly.  At the recycling center there is a metal pile of all kinds of discarded items from lawn mowers to work out machines.   Anything in the pile is free for the taking.  I spotted some pulleys and other items I wanted.  I was looking things over and I saw this Harbor Freight motorcycle jack.  It was dirty but looked nearly new.  I tried it out and it seems to work fine, so in the truck it went.  I washed it when I got it home and tested it more.  It seems to be okay.  If it is not, I will take it back to the recycling center for a refund. . It amazes me the things people throw away.

I burned more weeds today, as in using a weed burner.  I had bought one years ago that uses a 10# propane tank, and I used it the other day to kill a bunch of plants in my wifes flower garden. These are 6' cone flowers, and they spread like wildfire, and took over a large portion of her flower bed.  Very bulky and covers a wide area.

Went to Menards and got a new one that uses a 16oz propane bottle. So much better for getting into tight places, and near other plants that you want to keep.  I'll see how it works long term.  Seems like the weeds keep coming back when using RoundUp, plus it seems to hit nearby plants as well.

I have one of those I use for installing doors. and for lifting rear axles into place.

The last two days I have been doing wiring in the shop. I installed two cables for the minisplits I am putting in. and wiring some outside lights.

I finished up the wiring in the shop today, now all I have to do is install the junction boxes.

Today was the day. I decided that it was time to install the support plate I purchased some time ago and see what I had actually purchased back in 18 or 19. I picked this t5 up in Colorado Springs on a concert date. We met early in the morning and did business. He had never run the trans so there was some apprehension on my part. I verified it was world class but nothing else. The tag said it was a 93 cobra z spec but how would you know if the tag was correct or not. I had the tail housing and top cover off not long after buying it. I found a small piece of metal in the tail housing but had no idea what it was from. I was pretty sure the trans had been apart before. In doing some research a few years ago, a countershaft support was highly recommended to install. I bought one and it laid with the trans and collected dirt. I pulled it apart this afternoon and installed the support plate. I had it off many times setting the bearing end play. The plate came with an assortment of shims and I kept changing the shim stack to get where it was good. I had watched the video that Paul, the 5 speed guy had put up and he showed the countershaft spinning and the noise it made. He said that was too loose. When I got to that noise, it took another 4 attempts before I decided that was as close as I would get it. My inspection confirmed that it was a cobra z spec trans. It has some wear but the repair parts doubled in the last few years so it's going to get run to see if the syncros will do the job. I found out that the part that was in the tail housing was the tang on the reverse gear brake. In doing some research, it was common for a trans guy to say it was a nice idea that didn't work well. The case isn't cleaned as well as I'd like but I haven't decided what I will do about it.
