Motorcycle seat take 2. I made my own pattern for this version. Convertible top cloth for the seating portion and vinyl for the rest. The line you see where the seat heads up is a cut in the foam. I removed the original foam in the center of the seat years ago and put GSXR1000 seat foam on the baseplate. It's softer and wider than the original. After I put it back together, the battery was dead. Better at the house than down the road. :) I've ordered a new battery and the bike is back in the shed. I worked on the floor mat in the 51 some. It's better but nothing to get excited about. :)

After easter brunch I needed to work off some of the food. I did my first test fit of the new quarter panel on the Handyman. Needs to come back off modify the outer wheel wells that don't come close to touching the quarter panel.

I messed with a couple of small items on the 51. I would like to find some different seats to put in but most measure the same distance from front to back as the Taurus seats I have. I have upper and lower control arms for the front on the way. After 500 miles of driving, the ball joints are loose. I didn't drive the donor car for the front end very far but I was unaware that there was slack in it. It would have been rebuilt if I would have had that knowledge. :)

It looks like a Nomad quarter is pretty close to the two door wagon quarter.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I purchased this engine around 7 or 8 years ago. It was supposed to be overhauled. It had no compression or fire. I disassembled it today and cleaned and oiled everything. It did have new rings in it. I oiled everything and put it back together. I cranked it over and it has spark. I need to decide if it's ready for the next owner or if I want to add some fuel and see if it will make noise. :)

Plugging away fixing stuff in the driveway . Wife and I got really sick this week  (our easter break week ) and we actually saw the doctor today after determining it was not covid with home testing. She is now on meds , I am ok . Anyhow I ordered an ignition switch AND a tumbler set as the online picture of the switch did not show a tumbler included . I lost my keys early this year and have never found them so did not have a key(65 MERC 1/2  ton ) . Locksmith wants $100 to come out and figure out a new key (Not Happening ). I have done it before by drilling out the keyhole and letting the face of the tumbler come off so I can remove the switch with the locking collar still OK . Just replace all the stuff and go on . Any how I look in the boxes today and the switch I ordered DID come with a tumbler set so now I have an extra . Just for kicks I try the 2 sets of keys in my ignition and BINGO one of them works ! I returned the ignition switch with tumbler and even though my parts place (NAPA) does not give returns on electrical parts installed or not , They bought my story after checking to see the web site shows no tumbler pictured in the ignition switch pictures . I got  2 new keys to replace my lost one for about $13 . SCORE ! Also did not have to drill out and do the install on a new ignition switch ! DOUBLE SCORE !  8)

KB about your old motor , have you ever done a compression test and then modified and checked again ? We did a little head milling this year on an old ohv briggs . Compression went up from 95 psi to 150. It has one of those decompression deals on the cam or I would have broken the rope pulling it over . I do not know where the prony brake went or we could have before and after tested the engine for output .

I went to see a good friends new race car.  It was built at Larry Jeffers Race Cars near Saint Louis.  The workmanship on the car is amazing.  Everything resembles aircraft quality work.  Carbon fiber body and a big Blown Hemi engine.  He races the Midwest Pro Mod circuit.  I hope to see him run some this summer.

C.K., I did a 5 hp flathead in the Taco minbike back in 2010. I read that relieving the block was most important and not to worry about static comp. ratio. I had to hold the bike down to pull the rope after that. I never did a comp check, though.

KB I did a 2stroke motor for my daughter a few years ago . Barely cleaned up the bore at max oversized piston . Decided to start cutting . Decked block  , then shaved head , then after checking piston to head , went and made a head gasket from an empty beer can .008" thick (recycling ) . That golf cart it was in would just RIP !  8)

We took Vickie's F100 for a shack down run Saturday and shock out a few issues. Tail pipe came loose and nearly lost it. My Weld on the bracket was too cold and did not penetrate the frame.  Pulled into the driveway at the end of the cruise and the shifter rod was not connected to the trans. Previous owner did that install. I installed a new bolt and double nutted it this time.
