I started to paint some parts today and my paint gun was malfunctioning.  I worked on it for about an hour and I could not fix it.  I made a quick trip to Harbor Freight and bought one of their $15 guns and I was able to get the job done.  Not my best work but it is flat black and it is okay.  The Harbor Freight store is less than 10 minuets away from where I live.  I do not know for sure if that is a good thing but today it was a life saver.

I painted the hood, cowl, and grille of the 460/Ranger flat black.  The hood was in bad shape with lots of damage and the center bar of the grille was broke in the middle.  I made some repairs and shot the black with a lot of orange peel to give it a slightly rough texture.  I do not want to paint the whole truck but it is fairly straight and it has no rust to repair.  I just want someone to buy it before I have to do more.  I thought the flat black would be better than try to match up faded paint.

My grandson and I were working on my shop today to run wire for air conditioning. He was up in the attic stringing wire and he asked if I wanted the dashboard that was up there. He described as fiberglass with a lot of holes in it. He got it down and it was a 56 Studebaker Hawk dash I had modified to fit in the first Champ I had back in about 1972. I think it is going in this one too, I still have the stainless trim for it hanging on the wall so it's a natural.

I had to reset the bearings on the rear axle on my 5th wheel today. I found a loose one on a rest stop on the way to Oklahoma. That makes 3 field repairs on this trailer in 3 different campgrounds.  I am batting 100%

I need to fix 2 door latches on the rv tomorrow...

This is the finished product minus the battery in the tray. Most of the chemicals have dye in them so the color will be changing. :)

Recheck on axle bearings of the 5th wheel yesterday. All good. Mayb that stuff is good to go?

Watched a Kojak tv show. When the show was new, did not pay attention to low quality, inaccurate actions.

I know what you mean about the older shows.  I watched the "7UP's" the other day, and the acting wasn't that great, but at least there wasn't any cgi.

We had new windows installed in our house this week, and the guy will come back today to (hopefully) finish the aluminum cladding on the outside.  This guy does excellent work; takes his time and the installs are flawless. We had him do the front door a few years ago, then the bay window a year later.  Should've done this years ago when it was cheaper, but, hey, it's only money, right?

I' watching the electric company replace the pole in front of the house. It was hit about 4 am by a drunk driver and broken off. this is the third time it has been replaced since I have lived here. The other two poles on my property have been replaced once each for being hit.
