Yeah:  guess I am a conspiracy type person on Amazon delay of my rv water hose?

Different subject:  had a few family friends pass on this summer.  2 of them I learned via online searches on a lazy evening while we camped in the AZ mountains.  Not sure why my brother did not tell me, he says he knew.  I have an idea, but that is a long story.

Also learned my 37 yr old nephew is sitting in local county jail again. He is held for the library damage he did in 2021. Its the usual process:  he is arrested for something. Gets out of jail. Never bothers to appear back in court. Bench warrant issued. He is arrested again.  Does his jail time, is released.  The cycle repeats.  Its sad.  I watch his parents go thru the grief each time.  It is a bit more serious now. He is charged with damage to  religious artifacts as a hate crime.  There are other charges too. Court happens this month (october)

I went to an event today called The Gathering at the Roc.  An invitation only event promoted by the Hot Rod Garage at Sand Springs, OK(I went as a spectator)  The event was at Woolaroc near Bartlesville, OK.  It is the ranch that was owned by the Frank Phillips family of Phillips 66 oil company.

It was the largest group of amazing hot rods that I have seen.  They were the best of the best.  I think that two of the cars parked together were past AMBR winners.

Yesterday my other granddaughter came over to house clean for my wife. In the bathroom that is not finished yet she was sweeping the floor, and the fitting for water to the commode came loose.....below the valve. The only fitting that my half * remodeler did that I left without replacing. She felt terrible, but I assured her it was not her fault, and I was glad she was in there when it happened, rather than having it happen at 3AM. It's cleaned up and all fixed.

I have come to really enjoy living in a small town in a rural area.  We have crime and other problems like everyone else but we also have some really fun stuff.  At the football homecoming parade the other night most of queen candidates were riding on the back of convertibles.  One candidate however, was driving her great grandfathers restored Farmall tractor.  The crowd loved it.

This is Robert Berry's diesel truck "Bernie"  I helped him a little today at the drag strip.  He has run Hot Rod Drag Week and Rocky Mountain Race Week multiple times.  Do not let the looks fool you.  He made an 8.6 sec quarter mile pass today and it is totally steerable.  He lives about 35 miles west of me in Oklahoma.  He is a fun guy to be around.

55 years ago today I walked through the gates of the Great Lakes Naval Training Facility.  This nice young Marine, fresh from Vietnam, explained that I had to put out my cigarette, shut my mouth, and get in line.  I do think he cared for sailors.  The adventure began.

I am still learning & messing with smoking , low , slow cooking meat. I bought a propane smoking vertical cooker. I needed propane where we parked for the summer in AZ. In the forest areas open flames are usually not allowed since AZ forest fires. What you use as a outdoor cooker in the RV park must be able to shut down quickly and propane meets that requirement

I can buy the 2 pound bags of various wood chips on Amazon for 2+ dollars less than local and its delivered. Win Win.

Recently ordered 5 bags of 3 different wood chips. The 2 bags of mesquite wood chips were delayed 1 day because they were coming from Florida.  I will danged if the bags arrived from Florida in 1 day and delivered as Amazon suggested.. Plus the bags were on UPS.

I went to a car show today with the Jeepster. It'll probably be the last one this year so I'll put it away tomarrow. Won a $50.00 gift certificate at a local detail shop so maybe the truck will get washed this year. Got two weeks of driving around Florida visiting relatives but all on the east coast just above Daytona. Got one week to pack for two weeks on the road. Oh well, GPster

Put couple hundred miles on the Goldwing lately.  Still very warm here. Low - mid 90s F here

Watching a few old Perry Mason TV shows again..  Weird , I had forgotten that the guvernment had taken away 500 & 1000 dollar bills years ago.  Perry receives an envelope with a few bills inside.  Counts them and says "There is 5 thousand dollars here"  :o  :o

Visit the medical office: they act a bit nutz that I have 4 pounds added.  I told the PA that the over weight fat a** I see stumbling around and I feel purty good for my age.

I changed the oil in the wife's Durango today. No belly pan. It's all wheel drive so it's tall but not tall enough for me to slid under to get the drain plug out. Was better than the last 3 vehicles with belly pans. :)
