Nothing new here.  Its raining this morning in my area of Sun City AZ. We spent most of the summer up in the AZ mountains. Never done that before.  Weird to use the heat on some nites during the summer months.

Months ago , my 37 yr old nephew was arrested for criminal damage to a library at a college in the east valley. College is known as ASU .. The event made all the news outlets with photo. The nephew has been a problem for decades, drugs , alcohol, usual crap.

Got a welder friend to tig the rear axle plates on to the chopper today . The frame is all done . Now to put the engine back in and start making things work . The tig welding is beautiful! we are thinking about making a coffin style fuel tank and I will try to make a decent rear fender on the english wheel , planishing hammer and shrinker. I am thinking of making slight bends in the brake to get the side to side curve and then planishing the centre strip while shrinking the sides to make the rear fender .English wheel later to smooth the bends . Might have to study the Lazze videos for a while first .

Well I watched some video on making motorcycle fenders and have come to realize that I will have forearms the size of popeye's before I get this fender done . Holy hammer swinging batman ! My welder buddy is up for the challenge so we will do it together . We hammerformed a domed stainless steel firetable cover last year and evidently did not learn our lesson so we will punish ourselves some more . Gotta say the dome we did was spectacular . I etched flames on it and he followed the lines with the tig , varying the heat as he went to color the metal from blue to gold . Gold tips obviously . The inside of the flames were etched/brushed in one direction and the metal outside the flames was brushed in a pattern 90 degrees to the flame etching . Looked amazing . Did I mention this guy does welding sculpture and art for fun when he is not pressure welding pipe ? He is looking to become a teacher and has done his education degree. He worked as a replacement teacher in our welding shop last year . When this fender is done I may have to look at the door fit on my T coupe again .

CK, do you have any pics of the domed cover?  I'll bet that does look great.

Never took pictures . It was quite the job. we were talking about it the other night . The job took way more hours than anyone could imagine . My welder buddy is quite the artist . My favorite of his work is a raven he made . He used files for the feathers and needle nose plyers for the beak ,ball bearings for eyes etc. that bird is life sized and just amazing . 8)

I went to Goodland Ks for Fall fest today. Good car show, great weather. Many times, it's almost cold there. Today was 87 degrees. :) The town and car club do an excellent job with the activities.

1. Last week while mowing I hit something metal and I heard it hit the shop immediately after the lawnmower hit whatever it was.  I checked the mower blades and the mower and there was no damage.

2. A couple of days later I noticed a fresh large dent in the bed rail of my old truck.  I did not put the two together as my truck was parked inside my shop with the front facing the front of the shop.

3. Today I went to the area at the back of my shop to get one of my floor jacks and beside the jack was one of my pitching horseshoes with new shinny gouges.

4.  The lawnmower had thrown the large shoe 110 feet and through the door of my shop, glanced off the back of the bed rail, and hit the shop wall.  Needless to say, if it would have hit someone, it could have killed them.

5.  Two new rules.  Grandchildren must put the horseshoes away when they are done.  No one is allowed outside when someone is mowing.

I buy many items from Amazon the last 2 yrs.  I have mentioned here about  odd shipping issues & stuff.  We all look for deals? Right? I try to stick with items sold by and shipped by Amazon. At least shipped from Amazon.  Seems to be less delays.

We had a drinking water hose for the rv going bad from sun burning it. This is the feeder water hose from the campground  source to the rv.  I had a new water hose I had ordered on Amazon delivered to us while in Nashville TN. All was good.

Back in SunCity area I found a $20.00 deal on same water hose like the one delivered in TN. I order that hose and 2 more items.  The 2 items show up. The tracking on the water hose from Amazon shows it arrived in Phoenix distribution center.... then stops.  Other water hoses of same brand , type, length are priced at 31.00 to 38.00 dollars

Amazon sends me email that hose is delayed. Next day email says delayed, A "refund will be available if I want".. Another day , another email about delay and "refund available if I want"...

Day 3 delay : no email. Day 4 delay the water hose tracking begins again, the hose is delivered.  On the Box are the usual tags and stickers. One caught my eye , only partially covered up by new delivery sticker. The partially covered tag reads SIDELINE ..

I am thinking Amazon goofed on the price tag and was hoping I would take a refund ?  So they SIDELINED the water hose for a couple days late to see if I bite for the refund?  Just thinking out loud I guess?

Tony, you never know what goes on at those places.  After Easter, I ordered Robin Eggs (candy coated malted milk balls, my favorite) from Amazon, because the stores sold out before I could get another bag. There are two different sizes, large and small.  I like the large ones that were advertised. The small ones came.  We complained to Amazon and they gave us a refund, but told us to keep the eggs as they are food and can't be returned.

I don't know if the vendor had to pay back Amazon or not.  It WAS misrepresentation.  At least you got your hose.
