I wired in lights in my basement to run off 2 switches. I put the light boxes in 5 years ago . This beats my 8 year basement bathroom project! I have a patient wife . :)

Past weeks:  I have been watching some you tube videos about a Ford truck build.

Also:  I have watched several old videos of the Johnny Carson show. Short videos , 6 to 8 minutes with Rodney Dangerfield, Buddy Hackett, Drew Carrey

I have doctors appointments the next couple of days. Mostly just followups, but sure takes up time.

I have been watching a couple of uTube shows over the last year of so, pretty interesting.  A couple of guys (re)building 100 year old wooden boats.  Look up the Sampson Boat Company, and Acorn to Arabela.

Also have been checking out Engels Coach Shop, he is a wheelright from Joliet Montana, a tiny town a couple hundred miles east of me.  He built a replica of the 20 mule team borax wagons and the water wagon for them also.

Quick note:  My wife has been released by the Knee surgeon to return to work next week.  It has been 12 weeks since surgery

My Wife said it is so weird to look at the x-ray and see this artificial joint in there.  She feels so much better now , to walk without the pain.

My wife got a broken wrist in a car wreck many years ago. she still has a metal plate over the fractured part. You can see in x rays the sheet metal screws attaching the plate to the bone.

Yard work again today. Working hard and loosing a few pounds. Took the '40 convert up north a ways for pizza night on the deck at a bar on little lake...about an 80 mile round trip. First time out this year...car ran good and I enjoyed an evening with a few old  old friends . One of them I've been hanging out with for 50 years now.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

Well after getting the lights working on the Jeepster last night  I was feeling a little better about it's making it's debut at a "Cruise In" Saturday evening. Not wanting to go that far (5 miles) without trying it out I wanted to take it across the street and drive it around the school parking lot a bit.  It started right up and I drove it thru  the yard and I stopped it to get out and open the gate and it quit. Trying to start it it would hit and stop like it was out of gas. Checked the tank and plenty of gas but it was lunch time so I left it alone and went in for lunch. After lunch I went back outside and it started right up. Drove it through the gate and across the street and made two circles in the parking lot and it quit again. It did it just like before and it ran just about the same length of time each time. The fuel pump is new, the filter is new, with the dash not working I can't tell anything about the motor but it stops just like it's put of gas. The computer is wired in and working it just acts like the fuel pump is in a timed cycle and shuts off. So it's sitting in the parking lot across the street and when the thunder storm passes (that should cool it off) I'll try to get it home. GPster

any possibility the tank is not vented properly? Try loosing the gas cap if it stalls again.

I pulled a muscle in my right leg Tuesday so I have been taking it easy the last few days. I have to get out and start working it though so it heals.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Eighty degrees here and about 80% humidity. I try to stay indoors as much as possible. I do have the dehumidifier running in the shop, though, so it's around 50%. It seems cooler there.

[quote="moose" any possibility the tank is not vented properly? Try loosing the gas cap if it stalls again.[/quote]                              That's a thought but examining the situation (after it happened) when it quit in my back yard I took off the cap to use my siphon hosr to check the level (no working gauges) before I let it cool down. When it quit across the street I pushed it out of the way and noticed that I hadn't put the cap back on. So it quit both ways.I worried that something like that could happen so it's the stock tank in the stock location with the stock filler neck modified with a couple extra bends to fit around body braces. I'm in the position that I'll listen to and try any suggestion. Thanks for the idea. GPster

gpster any chance there is something floating around in the tank that plugs the pickup? I have seen that before. Or maybe you have a coil going bad?
