More on the old Chevy truck. I decided that the power distribution box would not work the way it was. Not enough fuses, and they were not wired to my liking. So I went back nearly to step one. I used a different style of fuse block, I ended up needing 15 fuses, and two circuit breakers. I also had to add more terminal strips to have enough connection points. I also made a cover for the power box, and put a legend sheet on the inside with the locations of the fuses, and what the rating was on each.

I also have the whole front of the truck wired including relays to operate the electric fan by three different switch modes, manual, engine temperature, or any time the AC is on. It has both an engine driven fan and a electric fan.

I took a bunch of pictures, messed up most of them, the ones below are the best that I had left after deleting the bad ones. I'll take more tomorrow.

That looks good, Frank. And you didn't have to buy a kit to do it. :)

I have been working on it again, lots of wires installed and run into the cab for connection there. I wired it for the amp he is going to install. 4 ga wires with a 60 AMP fuse. I have the headlights assembled and ready to install, headlight switch is wired and installed, ignition switch is wired and installed.

Reproduction parts are for crap. A couple of pictures included.

60 amp! How large of an alternator does it have? :)

100 AMP.  I'm concerned  he will need more battery if the amp really draws that much.

I made a rough estimate on my 32: halogen headlights- 30 amp, cooling fan- 30 amp, ac-30 amp, radio and amp- 30 amp, efi- ignition etc.- 20 amp - total could be 140 amps. If I remember, I have a 135 amp alternator. :)

Yep, and not only repro parts. We bought a new 2-pack of house outlets that have the usb chargers built-in, from Costco the other day. Made in China. I installed one in the kitchen. Great. Had trouble with the one in the 2nd bedroom, as the holes didn't line up. Finally got it in. The usb chargers don't work.  AAARRRGGGHHHH...

I installed the fuse box today and started wiring it. It fits, but just barely. For some reason the first four wires I ran to it were brown, and none of them went the same place. I installed wire clamps at the inside top of the firewall, I had welded studs there just for that reason. The keeps the wires up high and out of the way.

I installed a Pertrionix ignition in it, and wired it through a 10 amp fuse. I neglected to do that on a car about 20 years ago. The ignition shorted, blew up the coil, caught the car on fire, and nearly burnt it to the ground. So I always do that now.

Where are you putting the fuse?  Between the coil and the dist.?
The dist. and ign.?

Yes he is patient, but in a big hurry to hear it run. I could have started it months ago, but I am screwing with him. :D

Sent you a PM.
