Yes he is patient, but in a big hurry to hear it run. I could have started it months ago, but I am screwing with him. :D

Geez, Frank!  ...You've been working on it for approx. 21 months.

Gas Monkey garage, Overhaulin', and many of the other shows complete a project in 1-2 HOURS !!

You REALLY need to pick up the pace!

That's true ....BUT...  They don't work in Franks shop...need to search for tools , climb over things , get involved in side projects , etc..... :?

Comparing Gas Monkey garage, Overhaulin', and many of the other shows  to Franks is like comparing Stacey David's shop to an episode from American Pickers... :P

He once cleaned off his bench & found tools he lost as a kid .. :!:

They weren't lost Bob, I just hadn't needed them lately.

The fuse block/power center is in. I have spent the last couple days connecting the wires to it. I decided to put a Maxi Fuse in the wire from the battery to the cab. I used an 80 Amp fuse. If the alternator shorts, it will protect the rest of the wiring. The front end, engine and cab are done, I still have to do the wiring to the rear of the truck.

Well, in the last three days I started another T56 rebuild, and installed Disc brake on a 51 Hudson. I finished the Hudson today, and ordered parts for the T56.

In this case Hudson hubs with 2004 Crown Vic studs, 2004 Ford Escape rotors. a fabricated bracket with 87 Monte Carlo Calipers, and 1999 Silverado 1500 brake hoses. If I do another one, I may try the Ford Escape calipers and brackets too, a 30 year newer design.

After two weeks of waiting for tools, drill bits, I finally removed a broken hardened 6 by 32 screw that was keeping me from finishing the interior trim installation. It still took two hours to get the screw out using cobalt bits.

What caused that screw to be so hard? Did it work harden?

Quote from: "kb426"What caused that screw to be so hard? Did it work harden?

GM used hardened self tapping clutch head screws to hold the trim in place. The ones I broke I removed as I broke them by welding a nut to the broken screw, which heated them enough to get the rust broke loose. This one was " missing" when I took it apart. I only discovered it was there after it had been blasted and painted, so I couldn't use the welding trick.
