I took some pictures of the windshield today. I got the hinges adjusted and the regulator hooked up.  I got the AC/heater hoses figured out. NAPA has some heater hoses with a 90 on one end that made them easy. I had to order a couple fittings for the AC hoses, those will be in tuesday. I started making a new glove box that will clear the AC ducts. I am using PVC plastic sheet to make it.

I installed the windshield overhead panel yesterday, now the head liner can go in. A bite at a time.

I have some pictures of the overhead panel. My original intent was to install the wiper switch in the left inspection panel, but it was too deep to fit in the space available. So, I installed the manual fan switch there, and had a hole left over. So I installed a green light in it that comes on when the fan is running.

Since I had no luck finding where the sun visors were supposed to mount, I mocked them up, moved them through their travel, checked that they cleared the mirror, and used that to drill the holes. They work fine.

The wiper switch would not fit above the windshield, so I extended the wires, and mounted it in the dash directly under the headlight switch, with a matching knob. It looks right there.

I fought the AC hoses under the dash for quite some time last Saturday, I finally gave up and moved on to something else. Monday I had both hoses hooked up in 15 minutes. I must not have been holding my mouth right on the first try. I still have to make a hole for the evaporator drain.

The glove box. Yes, the glove box. The first version, not much left of it, I cut it apart and used as much as I could in the second version. That didn't work either, the angles were wrong. So I am now on the third version, a trial fit today looks pretty good. If it will work after boxing it in has yet to be seen

The visor install came out great.

I made the glove box for the 54 Chevy by shaping a foam block the size and shape needed for the glove box and then laying up fiberglass on the foam.  After the fiberglass cured, I removed the foam.   The air conditioning install in old cars and trucks causes lots of problems with glove boxes.

I bled the brakes today. I used a Harbor Freight vacuum bleeder, it actually works pretty good. I am going to let it set a couple days, and check them again. I installed the front half of the headliner today, not a lot of drama. I finally have a glove box that will work, and painted the inside to match. I started on the wiring, I have most of the switches wired, and am running the wires out of the cab.

So did the insulation compress enough to get the headliner bow to seat properly?

Yes, it took a while but I put some pressure on it for a couple days, and it went into place.

A major bench mark according to the owner, the bed is on. I have part of the headliner in too.

I have the new fiberglass rear fenders drilled and installed on the bed, and I have the tail lights installed, but not wired. I still have to make some fender braces.

I needed new decals for the AC controls since I am using the Vintage air switches right in the dash. I had these made with a brown background to match the rest of the interior.
