Patience. :) Some people have it, some don't. I ran into a guy last fall that I went to school with. I asked if he had any projects. Just said no. He didn't have what it took. :)

I have some more done. The glass guy came today, installed the rear window, and took all the other glass to his shop the install it in the frames.

I bought a molded fire wall liner, it came with 3/8" of insulation on it, I added 1/2" more and installed that.  I put the steering column in, it got a bit complicated getting to the top bolts on the lower column mount, but I managed. I have the throttle linkage figured out, but that will be tough to get to also.

I marked out and cut the last piece of the headliner, no more cardboard. This is hair cell PVC also. My buddy is going to dye the parts for me.

I installed the new stop light switch and clutch bumper on the floor pan, and made a new felt pedal seal and throttle rod seal.

I have most of the dash assembled, the owner wanted the radio mounted in the glove box. So I bought a radio box intended for overhead mounting, and fastened it into the glove box with a single DIN mount in it. I am still waiting, and waiting, and...waiting for some small parts to install it.

Looking nice. Just for future knowledge, I bought one of these for my next project. It has fm, bluetooth, usb and a card slot. It has a 10 watt per channel amplifier in it. The cost was $13 with shipping on ebay. The face plate is 4 x 1 and it's less than 3 deep. It has a remote that won't work through the glove box door. :)

kb426, can you PM me a link to that device you show above?

More done. I installed the floor pans for hopefully the last time. I used Allen screws so on down the line you can get them out if needed. The interior panels are back from the paint shop, they did an outstanding job on them. Now to get them installed. I have some more of the dash together, but I am holding off installing it until I get the air conditioner mounted. The control unit in the picture is the one I am using, I think? I may have to modify it to clear every thing.

I've used that same panel before but sometimes I removed the controls and hid or made my own panel. Would it be an option to hide them in the glove box with the radio?

I am going to install the mode switches where the original choke and throttle cable were. The heat and cool switches I am thinking under the dash, but the glove box may work better

I installed all the rear cab panels, and the kick panels. I have been trying to come up with AC evaporator mounting brackets, but nothing that pleases me yet.

I certainly agree with evaporator brackets. I doesn't take long to understand why factories make these conform to firewalls. :)

I installed the dash today, it took two of use the get it in. Some of the top mounting holes in the body were rusted bad enough that 8/32 screws would no longer fit, so we re tapped them to 10/32. I also found a Locar shifter boot that works, and doesn't look like it came out of an 18 wheeler.

That's really going to be a nice truck when you finish. With all the upgrades it's in the category that anybody could drive it. Assuming they know what that funny tall lever in the floor is for. :)

Not much done this week. I blew out a knee tuesday walking on dry flat ground. I am better today but not 100%. OBT and his wife came by today, and woke us up at noon. We watched a late movie last night. :D

Some changes had to be made. There was a tight spot in the steering as you turned the wheel. After investigating I found the upper Ujoint was binding as it had reached the limit on the angle. I had used a Flaming River joint, and the advertised angle was 30%. I checked Borgeson, and the same Ujoint had an advertised angle of 35%. So I bought a Borgeson joint and that fixed that problem, but there was still a bit of bind in it. More investigation found that there was a raised button on the steering box spline that was juuust hitting the end of the Ujoint at one point. I dressed the button back a bit and that cleared too. So I went a little more just in case.

The next problem I had was the AC evaporator. After several days trying to come up with brackets, and a location that would work. I was unsuccessful. The evaporator I had was a Vintage Air GenII compact. So I ordered a Vintage Air GenII Mini. It was only 2" shorter, but that was enough to fit. But that created a problem with the glove box. Since I had moved it to the right, one of the AC outlets on top of the AC now hit directly on the bottom of the glove box. I removed 2" off the bottom of the glove box at the dash, tapering to the original depth at the back of the box, and that cured the problem.

The new tires and wheels came in.They are 225 85 16 on 16 by 6 wheels.

I used a dome light from an AD Chevy truck, removed the switch, and converted it to LED using this kit.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/271597531146?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I am posting some pictures of some of the details. Any questions I will try to answer

AC in tight areas is a test. :) Did you try the light? I'm guessing it's really bright.
Is your knee going to need a little tune up or an overhaul?

Yes, I tried it. Yes it's bright. Dr said just take it easy for a few days. No real swelling. It's feeling much better now.

AC is in! I still have to run the hoses but there is plenty of room. Windshield is in, it took three hours to install the rubber seal around it. Particularly since I had to go around it about 1 1/2 times to use up the "excess".

Good news! What was the deal with the gasket?????

The windshield cranks out, and the gasket seals to the body. It has a flange with beads on both sides that is captured by a groove in the windshield frame. I had to set one bead in place, lube it up good, and work the other bead in with a glass setting tool. About 3/8" at a time. Then when I got back to where I started, I still had 2" of rubber left, so I had to keep working it back in the groove to give me more room and go a little further. Took about 2 ft to get it all in.
