Can we stand any more Mary Tyler Moore type Mustang shots? It and the 66 Chevy are homeward bound as of yesterday. I did a little work on the 66 hood and fenders but thats it. The crew did a bang-up job on it.

Truly enjoying my DD GTP with the re-tuned computer. It pins my head to the seat and I giggle when it goes down two gears     8)

That truck is a keeper.  I'll bet it'll drive really nice.

The Mustang is nice, but the PU, WOW, I think I am in love.

Want to trade for my A?

I helped Hooley run the "Okie Twister"  Henry J at the spring MOKAN nostalgia race.  He won the Gasser class.  A good day.

Well, I've been trudging along on the Jeepster. I only can work on it about two hours at a time before my mind starts leaving and I have to get away from it. I check in here 3 or 4 times a day but I don't have much to report so I just enjoy the progress that everyone else is making..I bought a battery for the Jeepster and I've be making sure everything is ready before I hook it up. I don't want to "Fry" or "Short-Out" the computer but I'd like to get the engine running (it's probably been five years since we drove the donor S15 of the trailer) before the battery goes out of warranty. I need to ask a few simple questions about a few thing about this set of the project but I'm going to put them on another heading so I can find the answers in case I forget them. Just making this comment so that you know I'm still here. GPster

Worked on front end alignment on the 51. Mowed the yard for the first time this year. Cleaned 3 vehicles. Exercised 3 bikes. Replaced the rocks in 1 side of the grill. The ones I removed looked like charcoal briquettes. The new ones are just rocks. I'm going shopping for something different.

Quote from: "Canuck"Finally, bits and pieces are starting to go together.  The plan is to have it on the road this summer as long as nothing unexpected happens.  Won't have a finished interior and probably missing a couple of body trim pieces that have to be custom made.

The hard part is avoiding the impulse to just throw it together as quick as possible.

Anyhow, here are a couple of shots of the dash, finally all together.  All vintage SW gauges, vintage indicator lights, reworked heater (the defrost works great, lots of air flow), custom made stainless trim pieces and knobs, custom column drop.

Like that Van tilt column, it's my favorite but they're getting scarce.  I have one left, a lot of the old vans got crushed when scrap $ got so high a few years back.

Spent yesterday replacing the kitchen sink drain.  It had leaked over the years and frozen the lock ring in place.  Got my son-in-law under the counter finally (lots more flexible than I am) and he cut the ring.  Then was easy to finish the job.  Also replaced the tub drain knob.

Let me preface this with saying  that a lot of H.F. tools are 1 timers. However, some of the stuff is no different from  the parts we pay way more for. I have a low profile jack that I purchased less than 3 years ago. It's been my favorite. It's low enough to go under the 32 and raises high enough to do normal maintenance. It started to not cooperate about a month ago. I have checked the oil level and air bleed it numerous times. I sent an email to H.F. inquiring if parts were available. The short answer was NO. This evening I disassembled it. This is a dual plunger model. One of the plungers was sticking. I had to take most of it apart to get the cylinder out. After removing the plunger, I removed the piston which has 2 o-rings and nothing else. I used brake clean where the plunger is and blew it out. I reassembled and everything is working as it should. I wouldn't make any predictions as to how long it will last. There is no seal at the top of the plungers to keep them clean. Now, I know the rest of the story. :)

Retiring, Not me, I was retired a few years ago when my shop was closing down. My wife decided to retire today. She was offered a Voluntary Early Retirement a while ago that was a very good deal. We went to a financial planner today and he was impressed with what we had accumulated towards retirement. He assured us we had more than enough to live comfortably in retirement. He told us to make up our bucket list and he would make it happen! I'm so happy for Sharon, my wife, she has worked since she was about 14 and deserves this more than me. We were able to set aside a big chuck of cash to do as we please with so the ideas are flying fast and furious tonight! 😄 Going car shopping is the first thing. I can't wait to see the dealer when we say " We'll be paying cash" 😆

I know a guy who has done that a couple times and he says getting a salesperson to take you seriously is actually quite the challenge. You may end up having to deal with a manager because that type of purchase is so unusual that sales may not know how to make the sale.

Wonderful news on her retirement! Keep in mind as you go along that retirement is to be stricken from the english language after you guy's generation. Sounds like a laugh but its a cry.

I want to take a big roll of hundreds with me like Richard Rawlings on Fast and Loud, but I'll probably write a check. 😉
