Ohio Blue Tip

Hooley,
I'll be at the hotel about noon Friday.
Is there an address for the track?
What time do you plan to set up Friday?
Thanks, Ken
Some people try to turn back their odometers
Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren\'t paved.

Can someone PM me the name of the hotel that everyone is statying at?
Your topless crusn buddy, Denise

Looking for old good for nothing flathead heads to use for garden project.

Hooley

KEN,
Here is what I found for the air port.
The Ohio Mile

Located at Airborne Park, southeast side of the town of Wilmington, Ohio just off Interstate 71 midway between Cincinnati and Columbus.

Track entrance is off of Airborne Road.  An address to use for your GPS is 2870 Old State Road 73. This is a business across the street from the entrance of the track.

We are going to try and get there as soon on Fri as we can. We will leave home early Thur. morn and try to get as close to Wilmington as we can before stopping for the night.

We took the car to the track Fri evening and got to make 2 passes.
The engine was popping going down track first pass. Data showed to be lean. Fattened up 10 numbers. got better second time but still needs more. It may have to go out in the country for some tuning before we leave.
At least we got to practice

           See you soon,
.          Hooley

From the first post in the thread, what size did you increase from and to for the fuel supply?  and which pump?

PS......I grew up in Claremore and my parents are still there, little sis is in Pryor.

Hooley

Glen,
We went from an 80A-.5 to a 80A-1 pump changed to a Enderle filter.
The supply line from the tank to the pump was OK @ #10 and changed to an #8 from the pump to the barrel valve.

Hooley,
We won't get away from home until mid Fri morning so we are planning to stop Fri night in Cincinnatti. By the time we would get to the track Fri. you would be leaving. I'll be a day behind you so if you think of something you forgot give me a call. See you Sat am.

parklane

Hooley, love to be there to see you run, but business before pleasure. You should make that run to Ohio in about 12hrs. Go getum
If a blind person wears sunglasses, why doesn\'t a deaf person wear earmuffs??

Hooley

Beck. I'll be looking forward for all the fun this week-end.

Parklane, wish you could be there. maybe next time.

974,  Got the boost gauge fixed.  It's time to see if every thing will pack in the truck and trailer. I'll do the final packing tomorrow.

My plan is to drive to Cincinnatti on Thursday and be at Wilmington drinking coffee on Friday morning by 10:00. My wife suggested I take the family car so that the family that's traveling with me (the dog) will be more comfortable and not require my leaning sideways petting him the whole trip. My back problem was certainly not as bad as a "Shadow" involved broken wrist but it did cause me to miss the last "build day". Hooley, my cell phone will be on Thursday till bed time and early Friday if you have any trouble or feel the need to let me knowyour estimated arrival time. Frank, I'll also be available to help set-up the "BarbequeTrailer" . GPster

I made the decision to not bring the BBQ today. Looking at the map of the site, there may not be any place to park it conveniently, and I have to haul parts home from there, so that means I will be towing a utility trailer. HRPP was going to tow the BBQ down, but who cooks, where the food comes from, ect. made me decide to just leave it home. HRRP and I talked it over this morning, and that is the conclusion we reached.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I think that's a good decision.Somewhere I save a map of the site but I don't remember where. I was wondering if it could be parked near the pit and no more people that are going to make it the "cook" wouldn't be able to "pit crew" and the "pit crew" wouldn't be able to cook if they weren't together. We got a letter from the ECTA about pit set up. There isn't going to be anything in the grass. No parking in the grass for support cars and trucks.  There is a lighting system that is fragile and it is expensive to fix.

GAtes open Fri: 8:am to 6:00 pm
                   Sat. 6:00 am to 8:pm
                   Sun.  6:00 am to 6:pm

Fri @ 4:00 pm Rookie orientation for drivers and crew. there is one on Sat also.

Sat. @8:15pm  Mandatory drivers and crew meeting.

Floyd and I took the car out on a country road yesterday for a little more testing.  We now have the motor on the fat side and seems to run good. We will probably lean it a little more for first run.

            2 days and counting,

You have straight flat roads in Oklahoma.      Good luck in Ohio.

Hooley

Thanks Mikej.

We had a straight road with some up and down movement. No one lives in that section and you can see for a mile in both directions.   I shifted into 2 gear early and nailed it to get some full gas data. It worked and every thing is on go.  Did I mention that second gear will go 150mph?
