974 going to the Wilmington OH. Mile

I entered the ECTA standing start mile run and was excepted. The race will be April 27, 28 2012. Check http://ecta-lsr.com/ for more details.
This is the event they were running at Maxton,NC but now it is at Wilmington, OH. Youall come on to the MILE. This is the "Hot Rod Magazine Top Speed Challenge".

We burn't a hole in a piston and some valve damage our last trip to the Texas Mile. we are in the process of getting the machine work done and getting all the parts gathered up to fix it. We are putting a bigger fuel pump and bigger lines on. A bigger fuel filter also. This should take care of the lean condition. Were hoping for some good numbers this race.

My plans have already started for this event. Hopefully I can bring my grandson. Got to see if there's any automotive interest in his genes as it seems to have skipped a generation. He's graviated towards swimming but all I have any interest there is to keep my head above water. If it's anything like the pits at Bonneville maybe I can build him a mini bike. GPster

That's only 1049 miles for me. I'm well aware that I live in the middle of no where. I'd like to be there. I hope the weather god smiles on this event.

I got the word back from the machine shop. The cylinder will have to be sleeved. It will only take 2 valves to get the heads back. The 2 new pistons are in along with all the parts to put a bigger fuel pump and supply lines on.

NEEDS MORE FUEL.

The engine build will start when the block gets back.
