Quote from: "Crosley"Cleaned up floor around and under the Morris.  Stuff up on shelves, some parts put in overhead storage.

Clean thick layer of dirt off the car too. Hung drivers door back on, discovered fitment problem with door inner handle.  hits the roll bar , took handle off

More to do, still

Morris or Simca--which gets done first Tony?

Simca. More work finished on Simca.  Gonna assemble top end of engine for pushrod length check this weekend.

Morris is one of those projects, that shoulda not been started.  Oh well.  I doubt I am only guy that ever did that?

Howdy gents- I haven't been around much lately so I'm here checking in, catching up on the stories and life adventures.

If any of you recall my mention of a '41 Ford pickup job a few months back, well thats what has been feasting on my soul all summer. Such giant jobs can beat you down in so many ways on a personal level.  Anyway, the level of thrashing to finish has been such that I had to abandon pic-taking for the most part.

Trying to wait until its done before posting many images of it, but I do have a few of the chassis. Did not get any with front sheetmetal in place before it went to the upholstery shop today, but we hope to have another full week for final prep before it heads to the AutoLoc booth at SEMA. So there will be pics, but later. A Roush-blown Coyote 5.0 was a tight fit but my co-worker pulled it off. Alternator mounts backwards on a fabbed bracket, for example. I did the bodywork, about seven months worth, I think. Its a blur and I need a vacation bad!

I have the opportunity to go to SEMA with the truck. But I'm a home boy and will probably stick around and work instead of going. I don't spec parts, just do bodywork and assembly / teardown. My customizing ideas are usually frowned upon too so I really don't see a need to go. Any of you been to it? Should I go? I hate crowds, and if I understand correctly its now open to the public. Whats the big whoopie about it, is it the models at the booths?

Cros, love the Morris. I have a Corgi model of one on my desk.

My attention is still focused mostly around the move. Attic is cleaned out, garage sale next weekend. Paint touch ups and some siding repair are almost finished. Hopefully I can finish tomorrow or next weekend. Garage thinning/cleaning is making good progress. So far I'm hitting my goal of sending the 85gal garbage "dumpster" away full every week and the matching recycling "dumpster" every other week.

Sunday I'm working a promo booth for my employer in return for free tickets to the NASCAR race. If you're going stop by for free bacon...no, really.

Doubt your the only guy that ever did that? Let me see, I have a 91 Chevy pickup with a Caddy in it I started about 9 years ago, a 38 Fiat that used to be a top midwest fuel altered in the 60's, a rear engine dragster that I got to fat to fit in, a 33 Ford 3 window that just needs a couple details and a interior and a 33 Ford pickup. I did get rid of my 60 Chev 2 dr wagon and my 55 Ford F100 (neither of which were finished) Seem to burn out on projects to fast anymore and jump to another.

p.s. That Morris is t1ts man! OK how about *?

Go. You will see tools and techniques that you never thought of. Plus a lot of nice cars, and booth babes.

UGLY OLDS

I started the "Ford clean up " today .   Time to sell all the small block Ford stuff I originally gathered to put a Ford 302 in my Model A ... Now that I have a dedicated SBC, (or 2),  for the car ,it's time to let the Ford stuff go ...

Some parts have not been touched since we moved here 23 years ago and are now considered "rare"...

Who woulda thought ???

Time to make a list ........

Idrivejunk, please go to sema. It is totally amazing. Yes, there's crowds. yes you will wear out from being on your feet all day. If you even remotely consider yourself a car guy. Go and attack. You will come home with fabulous memories. You don't have to be a gambler to enjoy Las Vegas. There's a myriad of entertainment. I'm fascinated by the casinos. Themes, lights, construction methods that are mind boggling. It's just worth the effort. Especially if you get to stand there and look at something you helped build and see it with all the other stuff. Don't forget the pics for the rest of us.

you lucky guys in snow belt;;

today , I greased the lawn tractor.  Need to mow yards again.  Odd that lots of rain causes the grass to grow quicker.  We need a 2.5m $ study on that.

Signed up for irrigation.  happens in 8 days.  Will be last flood irrigation for 2014 , I hope.

On to the Simca.. noticed this morning:  battery disconnect switch I bought last yr... is continous rated at 20 amps, not 125 amps I thought.  125 amp rating is momentary.

That would been a * with the car shutting off as continuous  amp load got too high and popped off the master disconnect switch.  Right in the middle of a high 8 sec - low 9 pass

i am taking you have a rear mounted battery..

this is a neat feature..http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb476/waynep712/pushrodbatterydisconnect_zpsf609fe5a.jpg

but what would happen. if you added a second connection that was a morse cable up into the cockpit...  you could have the NHRA legal cut off at the back of the car.. but also have a PTO knob to push and PULL to control the battery cut off switch from the drivers seat..

Power Turned OFF.. Pto.

Please explain what signing up for irrigation is.

Each neighborhood has a "posting box" for irrigation use. Inside box contains sheets with names & property numbers printed

We must request number of  hours of irrigation we want for each day (cycle).  If you do not request irrigation, you are not entered into current cycle.

Water company computes times for irrigation and then posts sheets in the same box.  email is also sent out with times / days irrigation flows. Maybe day time or night time which is a PITA.

Each cycle is 13 days apart.

sorry for long answer.

I guess I should have asked what flood irrigation is. Do you actually have your property flooded? If so how is this done?

kb426

Flood irrigation is done by running water over an area either by trenches or mass flooding. The use of a sprinkler in any form negates the title of flood irrigation.
