yuuup..  We have concrete ditches in neighbor hood.  Open design. This area was farm land for decades.  Now it is homes on  irrigated acreage.  Cost about 18 dolars a month to flood property 2 times.  Much cheaper than city water with sprinkler system.  My front yard does have under ground sprinklers.  Drip irrigation on many plants too.

The little town (Townsend) 30 miles east of us, holds the last rod run of the season with their Octoberfest.  Usually has 100-150 cars. yesterday there were 290.  Don't quite know why so many, but it sure was fun and a beautiful day.  There was a 37 Cord there, all stock, what a piece of engineering.  If any of you keep up with Salt Cat racing, Frank was there with his 51 Buick.  It is built on a Jag pan with a twin turbocharged,injected Buick 322 straight 8.  This was where he tested the design for his "Henry" headed straight 8 in the Bonneville cars.  Another beautiful car, he won best of show.

Well, I've been working for weeks on the wiring loam for the computo for the Jeepster. I knew it would be hard to get the engine ('87 GMC S15 2.5L ) running with-out it. Having removed all of the circuits that I won't be using and arranging the wires so that they aren't so tangled it took two rolls of tape to bind them down. I've only got two plugs that I can't identify . I think that they might be for the windshield washer/wiper circuit so I need to go back to my original wiring diagram, not the "whited-out" corrected copies to see if they need to be cut out too. I think I can find room for the mess that's left under my dashboard. With all of the engine wired I should be able to get the hood and front fenders out of the back seat of the body and hung back where they belong so I can re-position the Jeepster and get it up on jack stands. Then I can make room to get my exercise bike back home and have an exercise area in my garage. Linda retired the end of September so she's around in the morning when I take my blood sugar. Hearing my results this morning she reminded me about exercising. Her retiring and working on the Jeepster are high points in my life lately. I've been checking here daily but I've not had much to brag about. GPster

It hasn't been sitting out there long enough yet...the wheels don't have the same patina.  Give it another decade or two, then it'll be ready.

Finally got on bolting the heads to my 327 for the Simca.  First head, pulled threads out of one bolt hole.  I did not start on the 2nd head.

Guess I will heli-coil that bolt hole  next week.

please examine the thickness of the deck surface where the threads are.. the 3/8 length inserts are not really strong enough in my opinion which is not worth much.. you can order a .656" length 7/16-14 insert from grainger or some other store..

i use the smaller 3/8-16, 5/16-18, 8x1.25 versions all the time.. i am running out of them..

Wayne:  I have the proper heli-coil kit at work.

I have folks telling me to use a  time-sert  design  type repair.   Kit at that 7/16 size seems price fixed at 88.34 .  I found the same price for full kit in many locations.

It is an old 327 block. I dont want to eff up too many head bolt holes.  This is a short bolt hole.  If I am off slightly from straight, I will be OK .. The ARP bolt looks fine

Fitting a reversing camera to the 32 coup with a 4'' top chop it is hard to see and can turn it on manual and can keep a eye on the mullens trailer

To bring up LED bulbs again.  :cry:  

At the local Lowes a few daze ago.  I noticed 90% of the LED bulbs have discount tags on them. One level of the shelf all the LED bulbs had yellow discount tags . These are the indoor bulbs that look like space ships with the cooling fin design.

Make me wonder if Lowes is clearing out all LED bulbs & a new design LED bulb is coming online?
