I installed a shower door for my son this afternoon. That was his Christmas present from his mother. The door was heavy enough that it took both of us to hold it and install the hinge screws. For what it cost, I sure hope it's a good one.

6" of snow overnight, temps dropping below zero tonight. This is the first I've needed the snow thrower so far this Winter, it fired on the 3rd pull and chugged through everything.

6" isn't a huge snow, but where my driveway ducks between my house and the neighbor's I have to throw snow ahead of me and plow back through it until it's all moved past the houses. It's always pretty deep by the time I got to that last pass.

After watching a little basketball and getting dinner I'll spend some time out in the garage working on my brother's car. Glad I have heat and glad I put a new belt on the big air compressor. That oilless BRAAAAAAAT!! gets really old.

Yesterday it was 23 degrees here. Today it was about 55. Beautiful day for Dec.24. I spent the afternoon working on the rear end for the 51. Several complications. The last was finding out the tracloc was wore out on one side. I'll order clutches on thursday. It seems that everytime I disassemble something it has to be rebuilt to be usable. So much for used parts.

Cleaned out stuff. Still large piles to deal with.

Trying to gain control of the shop again.  Never be as clean as Glen's place, but I try.

I managed to whack my back a little yesterday. Today I whizzed the back off again. I brought out the stronger meds tonite.

was talking to a friend about the drive shaft he needs for his car.. said i would look up a few articles..   found way more info than i thought i would..

these only take a few minutes each to go thru ..
each one has slightly different info...

sticks and stones can bend your driveshaft.. but articles with drive shaft knowledge are free..

yea. i know.. its a poor twist

the last two articles are important to read as they are jeep related that some will run into.
enjoy...

Dealing with snow.ice,removal.bad roads/driving..pretty much EVERY DAY  for the last FEW WEEKS!
HAD A GREAT CHRISTMAS :D  :D
My drive almost every day has gone from small fuel efficient car about 50 minutes..to dropped valve seat (I think)
TO: always 1hr 15min often 1hr 30 minutes several 2 hr BAD drives.
in an extremely HD Police Suburban.Never sees od/rarely 3rd gear. About 99.99% of the time in 2nd gear and NOISY! Exhaust(no resonators(factory),and engine(3.73's)
The sun almost never shines. Today it was BEAUTIFUL! SUN! BLUE SKIES :D
That lasted about an hr.Looks like another blowing snow poor visibility drive.
Love and hate with this daily driver.
Somehow and stunning it is averaging about 16mpg though this.(Has never gone below 14.5.)No vehicle ever sold to the public for personal transportation has ever burned as much fuel going through drive throughs  I park and walk in now  The difference between going though a drive through and not stopping is just stupid.I can literaly fill it up across the street/go through the drive through and the gas needle ain't where it was
It is so much heavier than my g/f's GMC 2500 HD 4x4 that even with the same tires it sinks like a stone leaving huge ruts in her farm lane and I have to listen to it's SWEET! exhaust note as I power thorough it
G/F and daughter have a "SLIGHTLY" differerent view point to the above
Have a GREAT NEW YEAR TO ALL :!:

Wayne, truly sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my mom 25 years ago in october.Worst day of my life.Over time the nice memories will outweigh the sadness.I will always miss my mom.

Rrumbler

I am sorry to hear that, Wayne.  Losing a parent has a peculiar effect on a person.

It struck me somewhat, because I lost my Dad on the 17th of December in '02; we lost Mom in may of that year, and he never seemed to recover from it.  They were married sixty one years.

Rumbler, being married forever is really different. It doesn't mean that it was good everyday but those couples made a commitment to each other that was for there lives. I've known several couples that have been married forever and it's good to watch.

Sorry to hear about your Mom Wayne. Thank you for that link, my Mom is 89 and it's getting to be a struggle for her also. I have to take her grocery shopping tomorrow and that sheds a new light on what it might mean to her. I will have to slow down with her and not see how fast we can get put of the store.

Weather changed last night. This will be a house day instead of a shop day. We have blowing dirt and light snow with a few tumble weeds mixed in.

Judging from her son..Wayne..I am sure your mother was a fine woman/person.
 May she rest in peace.
Take care Wayne..there is a lot of help/support available.
