(It looks like you had a few days to study for it .. )

Bob...

Nope... they could not get me in, then suggested I drive 30 miles to Snottsdale AZ for the test.

Why drive 30 miles one way , when I have a place local to me 1.5 miles away?

oh well.  Not all handicaps are easily seen or heard

I had a guy from down the street stop by this morning. He bought a supercharger kit for his 94 Escort 1.8 engine. The supercharger belt would not stay on.  A little checking found that the supercharger was not mounted square with the crankshaft centerline.

I opened up the holes for mounting the supercharger, adjusted it to be square, tightened it down, and drilled holes for dowel pins to hold the alignment. After turning a new idler pulley on the lathe so the belt we had would fit, it worked like a champ.

Me neither! Nor for any of last week.
Today, however, I plan to pull the front suspension out from under the Essex to do some work on it. Pics to follow.

Sharon and I went out for breakfast today - we used to do it every Sunday morning with one of our 3 sons but as they got married and their own families we sorta let it go. We enjoyed, then went to Mom & Pop's cemetery for flowers and a short visit.

Watering the grass today. Been very dry and we don't have underground so I'm dragging 3 sprinklers around. Takes about 6 hours with an hour on each spot.

So, I'm relaxing, doing a little clean-up in the garage and a little work on the '40.

I'm sitting here pushing buttons on this infernal machine.

Recuperating from yesterday??  Had the crew over for 'Que yesterday, spent most of the day cooking and preparing, then enjoying my grandkids and their pup, along with fresh homemade tater salad, rib steaks from the grill, and other such stuff.

Enjoying the day with my 2.5 yr old grandson. We only get to see him about every six months or so. He seems to have taken to me, Papajoe, almost to the exclusion of his other grandparents including my wife; it's kinda strange, he grinned at me when they got here while still in the car then jumped into my arms and doesn't want Gramma to pick him up. Of course that means that Papajoe has to change diapers, put him down for naps and put him to bed at night. I'm lovin' it. Maybe it might have something to do with the five hot wheels cars, the toy sprintcar, two toy tractors, and huge frontend loader, and the Big Wheels he found here.  I'm gonna ruin that boy, he and I sat in my pickup for about twenty minutes in the garage at his insistance....then we got out and looked at the two real hotrods in the shop.
Can't be anything better than grandkids! :D

My grandson just turned two. He says "hotrod" plainly. His dad and I both have trailers to hook on our bikes for him. All three of us took a ride Friday afternoon.

We have the boy two days a week for daycare. It has changed my life.

Fixed my 8 yr old Sears 2 stroke gas powered blower.  Carb was falling off again, cylinder was loose again.

Had to make a new intake / carb  gasket. Screw holes were stripped. Could not find proper length - size screws to replace the goofy sheet metal thread type screws so ,,,,,   I stuffed some flattened wire in the holes, green 628 locktite and called it good.

Little 24cc engine runs good again. Cant beleive this old thing still runs

Sounds like a "Ryobi" brand...... I used to have to take mine apart every spring & Tighten the cylinder , carb , etc ...They vibrate themselves apart & there is not much to be done .. I finally put the carb on with longer bolts , locknuts on the cylinder side & red locktight ....6 weeks later the carb came loose again & it in went "in the can" ....

Now I just buy a new one every three years & garage sale or pitch the old one ..... :(

I also worked on my weed whacker/blower yesterday.  It's a Yardman 4 cycle, and just started running bad for no reason (known to me anyway).  I took the carb off and cleaned it, and the O-ring under the primer swelled up and wouldn't fit back in, so i left it out.  Surprisingly, it didn't leak, and ran a little better.  I think my next one is electric; I have long cords...
