Rodder's Roundtable / Power Window Kit opnions wanted
August 28, 2007, 05:38:55 PM
I looked at the Nu-Relics regulators at a show a couple years ago and liked everything except the price.  I was hoping the price would drop before I got to that point in me slow motion build.  In fact the price may have gone up, go figure.

The Nu-Relics web site doesn't mention sending in your original regulators.  It says they manufacture the regulators new.

Is there a price break if you provide original regulators as cores?  Thanks for any info, Tom G.

Daryle, Sue and I are planning on darting over to Des Moines on Sat for the GG show.  We'll just stay around as long as we can stand the heat.  I like the fair grounds setting over there ,but it'll be hot even in the shade.

We'll watch for the usual suspects at Yogi's around noon, if we don't spot you sooner.  See 'ya then, Tom G.

Rodder's Roundtable / Americruise 2007

Congratulations on your award Mike.  And thanks for inviting us to join you and Anita on the 4th.  We had a real good time.  I loved the shade, great cars (enough variety to please everyone) and good food.

We also enjoyed our "tour" of Cass county, ha.  Got 16 gal of gas at the Atlantic Casey's for $2.759/gal.

You are right about the "cherry" paint job on the '37 Ford Tudor.  Super nice car too.

Mike,

Would like to see the whole gang again down in Lincoln, but Sue and I will not make it this year.  We will be out of state for a family retirement get together.  I was really looking forward to seeing Bob's new '34.  We are planning to make it to GG Des Moines (for Sat at least).  We'll watch for everybody then.  Enjoy and post lots of pics.  Tom G.

Holy morphmobile Batman...

I thought the car he brought home in his lunch pail was a Caddy.

Maybe P. T. Barnum was right.

But with all that said, I kinda' like it (in those colors).

That really looks great Bob.  I love that SCREAMING YELLOW.  There was a new Mustang Saleen in that color out in front of Cabella's yesterday.  A photographer was there with a couple car babe models taking all kind of pictures.  Wait 'til he sees your car....

My Dad was a carpenter too and he used to always tell me, attention to detail is the secret to sucess.  You suceeded.  I'll bet htose grandkids love it to, huh?  Congratulations, Tom G.

p.s.  It'll be a real radar magnet now, even with the glass body.

Rodder's Roundtable / Mustang II cross members

Quote from: "enjenjo"There are some washers available, I get mine from old AMC cars in a salvage yard, anyway the are serrated on both sides, and fit between the A frame, and the crossmember. Once it is tightened up, it won't slip, you have to kind of pry things apart to move the A frame. You will find these washers under the fender to firewall braces, where they bolt to the fender.

Are they like star lock washers?

Are large (enough) star lock washers available anywhere?

Might save a winter trip to the "parts yard".  Just a thought.  Thanks, Tom G.

Rodder's Roundtable / A little RRT survey

I don't post often.  Learn more by listening.  But I think change is good.  A high school science teacher once told me - the only thing constant in nature is change.

Another thing we sometimes forget when we oppose change, is that change works both ways.  If we change something and it doesn't work out, we just change back.

You know why we don't have Mastodons in Nebraska any more - they couldn't adapt to their changing environment.  Or was it Wooly Mammoth's Change on, I'm ready.

Joe,

You might check with a hospital near you about putting your old magazines in some of their waiting rooms.  Maybe the VA hospital, or a senior center.  I've done that here from time to time.

Be sure to remove your address label.  Much better than just feeding the trash bin.

Dave,

I bought this Goodyear hoist at Sam's and am very pleased with it.  It came with the adjustable engine lift (that is usually $20 - $50 extra).  Assembled easily.  I like the folding legs.  Notice the extra bracing where the hydraulic ram attaches to the top arm.  It's ANSI rated.  It looks a little stronger than some others I've looked at.  Good luck in your search.  Tom G.
