Rodder's Roundtable / Pinion angle help
October 24, 2006, 02:12:46 PM
Thanks Guys for the info.
I forget to ad that I have a adjustable triangulated 4-link with rubber bushings and I tilted the pinion upwards 4 degree so total is now trans –4 and pinion is +3 degree, so that's a 1 degree down for pinion movement when acceleration.  Did it sounds right to you?

Rodder's Roundtable / Pinion angle help
October 23, 2006, 04:38:11 PM
I need some advice about my pinion angle.
Sorry for the lowtech drawing :)  The transmission is tilted down 4 degree and the pinion 1 degree down. The drive shaft is 1 degree up from the pinion. The reason I asked is because I have some noise in my u-joint and I adjust the angle to this setup and the noise disappear, but what do you say about this setup? Can I go with this without ruin my u-joint?
Any help appreciated
Per.

Rodder's Roundtable / Teardrop skirts
October 14, 2006, 05:40:12 PM
Quote from: "58 Yeoman"You mean like these?  They were on my 41 Pontiac, and are steel, but they would need a little fixin' up.

Yes Phil, just like that.

Thanks Bob for your reply but I don't know if I got the skills it takes to make my own.
Btw, her's a guy over at the HAMB who makes his own skirts

Did someone know where I could find a pair of teardrop skirts for my 41 Buick?
I prefer steel but Fiberglas will work also. 8)

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: Gas prices.
August 25, 2006, 10:40:37 AM
Quote from: "Gilles"As always in Europe we win the gas price comparaison. Here in France the unleaded is at  1.32€ a liter at the supermarket station, where it's the less expensive.  At 1.28$ for 1€ and 3.78 liter a gallon the price is......

     6.40 US$ per gallon...

and near 7$ per gallon on the motorway!!!

And I know it's even more expensive in England and northern Europe countrys!!!

This summer I did a lot less kilometers with the 32 roadster than the previous years. Even at 21/ 23 MPG due to the overdrive (and a very light right foot) the long trips cost a fortune. And we have to pay toll on motorway too!!

Fortunetly the average small french car that I drive everyday (when I don't use my bicycle)  consumes 6 liters for 100 kilometers, the equivalent of 40 MPG.

Gilles

Yes Gilles, we always win the gas price competition over here in Europe. :(
That's about the same price we have here in Sweden.

Rodder's Roundtable / Hot rod reunion over here!
July 24, 2006, 06:16:24 PM
I have the opportunity to get me a ride in the Norwegian Plymouth Superbird on the picture.
A real matching numbers 426 Hemi. What a nice experience. :D  :D  :D   There isn't many around for sure. It was difficult to get a clean shot of the Bird cause the crowd where all over the car and prevent me from coming close enough with my camera. I have to sneak up early in the morning to have my pics. 8)
