Quote from: "parklane"Lookin real good there Per. Let us know how it rides/handles.

John :)

I went for a small test-drive and so far it looks good. The 4-link made a huge improvement compared to my previous setup with leaf spring. And the Air suspension rides real smooth even if I have to use some 80-psi in my front bags to get my design ride height. But it's a pretty heavy car so that was no surprise. I trim my front spring pockets enough to be able to put in some 2600 style bags in the future if I want. And the handling seems fine even that I only have 4 valve, front/back instead of 8. No problem to handling curves.
Btw, thanks for the kind words guys. 8)

Well, finally I get her up, or down maybe the right word. This is the lowest I can get without c-framing but this will do for now. Fortunately the snow have melt over here and I was able to get the old lady out for a test-drive.

Nice Chevy Walt.
Looks good with the slanted b-pillar. What kind of door handle do you use? What kind of driveline except the LT1? I look forward for more pics.

Rodder's Roundtable / USPS?

Dave
I pay 100 bucks to USPS for 4 airbag and 4 solenoids and a total weight of 11 kilo and that was the cheapest way of shipping it to me.
But the timefactor...

Well, we got a lot of snow here so I could hardly enter my shop, but I finally got my air ride stuff so I can at least sit by my table an admire the thing with a hot cup of coffee and be warmed up and dreaming about the coming spring.

By the way, we have used tons of stuff from Suicide Doors, and they are one of the best companies out there, in every respect. Great products, service, they will custom make stuff, price, and fast shipping. You will love their stuff, I'm sure.

See if you can hook up with FedEx.

Don

Yes, Don
The Thorbecke brothers over at Suicide Doors are awesome to deal with.
Best service available.

Is it a common problem with delayed shipping when you use USPS?
Suicide Doors ship my air ride stuff in early December and I got it today.
According to the USPS it was a normal 4-6 weeks shipping, but in real life it took 79 days!
What company can you recommend for shipping to Europe?
But anyhow I'm happy to get my stuff and be able to continue with my –41. :D  :D  :D

QuoteThe weight of your car and that gear ratio will induce more of a load on the engine, decreasing manifold vacuum, so a vacuum  advance may have to be adjusted accordingly

Yes I have Vacuum advance hooked up to manifold and restricted to about 10 degree. Maybe I want to have a "faster" mecanical advance curve as for example 36 degree by 2500 rpm or get moore vacuum advance?

Thanks for that link, real interesting reading. I see that the guy from Norway have a pretty heavy car with not so much of gear ratio  (2.73) In my own Buick I got a poor 2.56 ratio in a fairly heavy car. Is this a factor to consider when I set my timing curve?

Rodder's Roundtable / What timing curve on your Chevy sb?
February 11, 2006, 12:38:07 PM
I'm just curies about what timing you Chevy guy run your small block. Now when the gas price is going sky-high I must concern about to get as much mile per gallon as possible but without to sacrifice power. The gas price here in Sweden is 5 Dollar per gallon. :x  I run 16 initial and a total of 36 in my 327, all in by 3200 rpm. But I didn't take the time to really test other combinations. I know it's a trial and error to get it right. I have the original weights with medium spring in my Hei. I tried some Mr. Gasket weight but don't like them. Somebody might have some advice on this?
My 327 are a stock 300 hp with weiand Stealth and Holly 600 vacuum.
