My wife filled our mini van today here in town for $1.89 gallon.  I just talked to Sumner and he said the station across the street from him(southern Utah) just dropped under $3 a gallon.  The other day he said it was still $3.39.

On a related note I bought another car to strip just the other day before I checked the price of scrap steel.  What they were paying nearly $200 a ton for this last summer is now $10 a ton.  I will not make any money on this one.

WOW. Here the price for whole cars, no motor or trans, is $35 a ton. During the summer it was about $275

In a way that's good for the old car hobby.  Maybe now the fever to crush anything and everything including a lot of vintage tin will slow down a bit.

You've got that right Lee. This spring on my western trip I was at more than one yard that claimed to have crushed 1,500 or more cars since the first of the year. The emptiness of their yards told the same story

Had to go over to one of the sons house to feed his dogs late this afternoon. $2.19 per.

All dressed up and nowhere to go. Where was all this inexpensive gas when I went to Bonneville???

Don't get me wrong...I like it!!!

I paid 2.08 in Hays Ks. today. I went up and cleaned the carbs on my son's cycle. We can't seem to get a filter that gets the fine stuff.

hey all, down to 100.9/L here today. 3.78L/US gal.The gas stations are claiming it takes 90 days for the old priced gas to get used up before the price can go down! What a load of hooey. If that were true we should just be starting to see the price increases from all this summer's oil price increases!Provincial govt. makes a lot of revenue in gas tax so they will likely take a while before "looking into" why fuel prices are so slow to respond to a drop in oil prices.Since fuel got as high as 148.9/L here this summer one should logically expect the price to go down to 75.9/L since oil is at half of this summers price!I doubt we will see that.We are also experiencing a "diesel shortage" around here ,truckers are worried about rationing.
