Well the 56 can't go back together until next week but I was able to put in one hour on the 68 yesterday that wasn't going backwards. You just can't properly fight stupid anymore, its illegal.

If there was anything not negative, I'd post that. :)

Grape split and spat out a poly sway bar end link bushing about a quarter century old and her and the GT racked up another round of hail. Today. It builds character. Like being whomped upside the dome repeatedly with an idiot stick.

Since I guess I've ruined the thread with negativity I'll say this: Life in the absence of a barking dog is COMPLETELY different from it without. Thoughts can be completed and life can be normal. Start up a dog barking and instantly that goes away. Replaced by the urgency to stop the barking which theres no way to do. Puts people in a horrible position with no end in sight. Quiet here now though. Been here since '98 and there have been right at half a dozen periods, sometimes years at a time, when my existence has been ruined for long stretches due to this. I just ride them out.

Wreck causers are the other part of my sickness but I could probably get hit again today and not hit anybody for it. Don't think I will ever be able to tolerate dogs again though. Their owners are so often just life ruiners for everyone around them. Poor dogs. I do like them just fine but many of their people are just rotten at the core.

Happy week and good progress to all  :)

Waiting for rain here, maybe at the end of the week.  Matt, I know what you mean about  barking dogs.  At my last house, the neighbor kept her sons' dog at her house, while he lived 10 miles away.  Why have a dog if it's 10 miles away?

Cottonwood trees.  Nuff said if you have any around you. I took the 400mph blower today to  blow them off the yard and into the woods. Well, most of them anyway.  It looked like snow on the ground.

Got the carbs synch'd today, on the Corvair.  I'll take it for a ride after lunch. I bought this car from a neighbor thinking it would be an easy go, to drive this summer. New gas tank and hoses, new brake lines and rebuild wheel cylinders and finally, rebuild both carbs.

I have been pretty sick but I am on the mend and everything will be fine.  To amuse myself today I watched a streaming of Sick Summer Drag and Drive event.  They were at Cordova, Illinois today and they will be at Byron, Illinois tomorrow.  Some very fast cars that are street legal.  I think the fastest pass today was in the 6.5 second range.  Alex Taylor went 6.8 seconds in the quarter in her 55 Chevy.  That is very fast for and aerodynamic brick.

Matt, I have a soft spot for those trucks even though the hood and doors are problematic just like the Fords of the same generation. We had both on the farm and really had more trouble with the Fords. When they were less than 75,000 miles, they worked pretty good. After that, hood hinges and door hinges were a problem. That shouldn't surprise anyone. :) That truck is another one that experts will know what was done but everyone else will say "nice truck". :)

56 owner boxed his stock frame so maybe it won't be so squirmy. I put new little springs in the upper door hinges given. Theres no give in the billet hood hinges but they ask an awful lot of the firewall. Don't know why the headlight bezels are still untouched, nor do I know the paint plan for those.

Small road trip to New Mexico: basic tourist road trip. I do not "do tourist" very well.

Apologies if the 2 photos cause digestive troubles.

Stopped by the radio dish array near Magdalena New Mexico.  We actually watched the dish in the photo turn 90* to its left.  Weird to see them move. They are about 80 feet in diameter. I think there are 25 of these dish there?

Roswell New Mexico , visited the International UFO museum. Lots of documentation to read there on the 1947 crash of alien space craft. If 50% of the information from the military guys that were there in 1947 is correct.  Something crashed there and it was not a weather balloon. So ?
