Machining parts today . Race season is upon us and everyone needs something . Made adapters to raise master cyl reservoir to clear valve covers on a 67 fairlane with FE motor . Still have to do some work on a crank going into a blown alcohol 522" hemi for a pull tractor  and O ring 4 sleeves for same . Off to the drags tomorrow to help on the blown alcohol BBC 57 chev truck I have been helping on last year . Maybe we will make a full pass . It would be a first for this rig .

My magnetic personality is still working. Recent visit to grocery store. I was looking at spices.  Woman come around the corner, puts herself and cart nearly on top of me. I figure she is just a DA. She finally moves, I get what I need , then move on.

In the BBQ acc isle I am there about 8 seconds, guy walks around the corner and looks at items, moves towards me , then right next to me as he seems to need to be where I am. I just keep picking up stuff , touching stuff. I am Not moving.  All the while my wife is watching and chuckling quietly again. There are more boring stories.   

Ever visit local thrift stores?  Good deals to be had some daze. Its like stepping back in time when you enter them.  Local Goodwill store here in the AZ mountains had about a dozen vintage toaster ovens. I have not seen these in years.

Truck made an almost full pass saturday . We had issues which were eventually traced to an electrical supply problem . (its always something small when you find it ). Did a good burnout across the start line and then while backing up , the fuse blew in the circuit for the trans brake . This brake requires a button to be held when reversing in order to be in gear . The truck made an un timed run from about 20 feet ahead of the start line . Part throttle, straight ,no leaks , no stumbles , no parts falling off . maybe next time out we can get a timed pass.

Finished up left floor and rocker on the 68 Chevy today. And there was Model A hood activity today, but I finished that 2 years and 2 weeks ago. And the patina'ed 51 F5 tank truck crunk up and moved under it's own power.

Matt, you're an inspiration.  I haven't done any body work on the Corvair 2door since my brother got sick in February.  I've been doing mechanical work on my second Corvair preparing it for driving this summer, and I walk by the 2door and don't really feel like working on the body.  Seeing what you do lights the fire again to get restarted on the car again soon.  Of course, it takes me weeks to do what you do in a couple days.  Thanks for the push.

Thanks and thanks. Some of the Corvair talk does me the same way but my cars and home remain in shameful neglect with no gumption in sight. Somehow I keep getting to work which is all that matters. Heres the underside. I didn't think it too whippy just a value oriented truck rust job.

I got the new turn signal switch in today.  I was hesitant on this, as there are two different (supposedly) switches, Boyne, which is red, or any color except white, and Delco Remy which is white.  I bought the red one, though mine is white, because the white vendor didn't get back to me in time. The Boyne vendor told me he has seen Boynes in almost every color but white.  Well, the red one fits exactly and works correctly, so we've put that rumor to bed.  Also got the radio to work (am only)  by cleaning the volume control, adjusting the antenna and replacing the speaker with the one from the coupe.  I'm tired, that's enough for today.

Turn signals are the grander achievement but bonus retro stuff knower points on this ^^^

^^^^^ We listen to one am station that has the same as fm, but only when we get out of range of fm.

Version 2 of the master cyl reservoir risers are done . Started making tooling to cut o rings in the sleeves for the hemi motor. I have students making parts for the chopper as some are finished with their required project work .

C.K., I made a version of the Isky tool years ago that fit one bore size and used a cutoff tool blade ground to the correct size for .043 wire. It was hand operated.
