Quote from: "kb426"phat46, I have the scat catalog in front of me. They list 3 cast cranks, 9103750, external balance, 9103750L, internal front, rear external and 910400, 400 external balance not stock rod length. Does your invoice show which crank was in the kit?

I would have the first crank, external balance, but... I think I may have found the problem, if it's what I think it is, it's my own fault....😬 Stand by, we're going in, in the morning.

Well, it looks like I shot myself in the foot, again. My flexplate was not indexed correctly. There is no pin n the Scat crank, just the hole for it. I didn't pay attention when we put the flexplate on and it was off about 120*!!! My punishment was seven hours under the car on the garage floor to correct it. Lesson learned, I'm finishing up things on the topside so won't fire it till tomorrow but that had to be the cause of the shaking.

I was wondering if you had maybe ordered a 4-7 swap cam without knowing it . Glad you found the problem .

Bike night tonight . got the oil tank mount made . Boy things are snug in there . Kind of like one of those wood puzzles going together. Everything needs to go together in a certain order or it will not all fit.

I wondered the same as did a couple friends, I even swapped those wires to no effect, other than to make the idle rough and vacuum flutter. The cam is a Lunati 60102, normal order but you never know.

1948 Simca..  rolled it outside after I reinstalled the doors.  Car still needs most items: wire, fuel , brakes, drive shaft, floor.  Simca is going into storage for a while.  Unless I find a buyer for it.

Rear end is at ride height..  I would like to get the front down about 2 inches.

Ambient high  temp here wednesday was 105*F.  Time for us to get out of town

Crosley, that Simca looks wicked. What drive train is in it?
I started my '46 today after getting the flexplate indexed correctly, and it stopped shaking! 😀 Amazing how good things work when you install them correctly. I drove it a little around the neighborhood, no plates on it yet, and it seems to run o.k. Maybe a slight miss on one cyl. But it starts with a half turn of the engine, idles well, runs cool, and the rebuilt tranny shifts! Of course the power steering pumps now sequels all the time, so that's next on the list, sure would have been easy to fix before the rad was on there....😆

The Simca has a Chevy 327 , bored .030 12-1 compression...   Some  AFR alloy heads .  Currently the transmission is a powerglide.

Currently we are searching for a RV , prefer a toy hauler style to haul the motorcycle.  Prices are up.  Availability is low on new and used RVs.

Talking to sales reps at this show: several different ppl had same comments. We can not get new toy haulers, when we do , they sell quickly.  Same for used units.

We made need a plan C or D at this point?

I did a little job to repair my ebay ac clutch remover tool. The pusher bolt failed on the 1st try. I made a spare in case there is a design flaw. We had a car show today in memory of 3 people that have passed away in the last year. They were long time car people. There was a nice turn out for this area. Good mix of cars and good visiting . :)

I mowed the yard today. I even kept most of my clothes on. I also unloaded a lathe from my van that has been in there three years.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I ran the 460/Ranger at the drag strip last night.  It was an all Ford night.  I made progress and I am now within .1 second of what I need to be able to run competitively in the index class for race week.  A good tune up and some practice should get me there.

Hooley ran his Ford gasser.  It is not as fast as the old Henry J but it does run in the low 11s and it is fun to watch.  He calls it "The Okie Twisters Ugly Sister"

Ya might need that any time now...I'm guilty of the same sin though.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"
