Hauled a gun safe to my brothers house. Heavy safe, just over 300 pounds...  Well, heavy for an olde guy to load and unload

I sold a Saginaw 3 speed trans and an almost new clutch and pressure plate that I've had on the shelf for 30 years. The buyer races a camaro on the track and uses that trans. More room for me.

I just watched Indy. Good race with few yellows. Helio became a 4 time champ joining Foyt, Unser and Mears.

Spent the weekend at the NSRA mid America Nationals.  It really felt good to be out in public and visit with people.  Good show but about 3/4 of what it once was and a large part of that was not true street rods.  About half the vendors of what were there years ago.

George Poteet bought a friends truck on Friday.  That was interesting.

I glued a hunk of paint back onto Grape's sail panel yesterday and changed oil n filter in the GTP. My Pontiacs continue to cling to life with remarkable tenacity, thriving on neglect. :) :?

Looks like I'm going to have to pull the engine I built over the winter back out if my '46 Chevy. It seems to run well, but shakes badly. When I bought the Scat stroker kit Jegs had it advertised as internally balanced, that seemed odd so I called them. The rep said no, they are not internally balanced, I told him to look at the kit I was interested in. He said that was wrong, it was listed incorrectly. They did change the listing the next day. He said the crank and rods and Pistons are "neutral balanced" and it came with the correct ballancer and flex plate for external balancing. I have eliminated everything external I can think of, it acts like crossed plug wires or a massive vacuum leak, neither which it has. I went as far as replacing the distributor with a known good ne. I unbolted the torque converter from the flexplate. The valve train is all operating correctly. It has a steady 16 inches of vacuum. The timing was s set at 12* btdc, although it makes no difference where I set it. Guess I'll take it back down to the block and get the rotating assembly balanced.

My wife and I were two of the 135,000 people there. Great to be out and in a big crowd again. Great race. My wife's 42nd Indy 500 my 19th. Already have our tickets for next year with hopefully the usual 300,000 people. 7 historical things happened in the race:
Helio became a 4 time winner
60 years after A.J. Foyt's first win
30 years after Rick Mears' 4th win
50 years after Al Unser Sr.'s 2 nd win
First non-American driver to win
First female owned team with a female driver and mostly female pit cre
Largest public gathering in the world since the virus shut thing down

Phat 46 , you may be able to fix it by using the external balanced flex plate and balancer. I have an internally balanced 4" stroker crank but it has large mallory metal plugs welded into the counterweights . Good luck and I hope Jegs can step up to help seeing as it was their incorrect product info that caused the problem . I would send them a copy of the bill along with their product info in the ad to give them the opportunity to make good on their mistake .

It came with what was supposed to be the correct balancer and flexplate for the kit. It was supposed to be externally balanced, that's why I called and asked why it stated on their website that it was internally balanced, that was wrong and the guy told me it came with the proper balancer and flexplate. Not sure what went wrong...I've got smarter than me guys pondering on it too.

phat46, I have the scat catalog in front of me. They list 3 cast cranks, 9103750, external balance, 9103750L, internal front, rear external and 910400, 400 external balance not stock rod length. Does your invoice show which crank was in the kit?
