Change the 54 to red and WZ JUNK can hang it on his wall. :)

Hey thanks for the feedback  :)  I could make a case for either 53 or 4 and suspect that using elements from both has potential. Never looked at a 54 very hard so had to study for this drawing whereas the 53 just durn near fell off the pencil point. So now I am more familiar with them and more mindful of the annual evolutionary steps taken. Pretty neat how that flows from one year into the next, and the 54 is an interesting transition which ushers out the earlier body quite handily.

But like with tri fives, each year has some visual element which I wish wasn't there alongside it's cool-looking identity-defining ones.

When Dad saw the pic,  one of his 54 stories fell out. His timing gear stripped three miles east of Chickasha "racing" a Ford on a Saturday but he made it to a dealer shop that was still open despite limping it a great many miles. He is and was a stovebolt lover... until the OHC6 of course! Which is purt near just a fancy Pontiac head and gimmicky Gilmer belt under an infantile Q-Jet hung on one. ;)

When he went into the AF his ride was a 54 Super. White on light blue with red and black interior. 8) I worked on the picture of his A rod for awhile last evening.

That was exactly what I eluded to in the post but I'll need the mod list or a sufficiently recent pic to show them. The wheelie shots conveniently lessen the need for wheel detail and simplify using a single line drawing to base depictions of multiple dudes' rides on, for economy of effort. That is on purpose but could be more closely representative with more detail.

I drew this thing several times but kept screwing up which elements to include to represent whose car and ended up juggling things on the computer to finish. But in the owner's words I nailed it. Eventually, and the image got several tweaks while I was there to refine and boost the look of the art.

The movement / energy of the base image is carried over from the 53 ragtop sketch and I am real pleased with that part of it but other parts could be evolved further. And I'd be glad to, for junk John. 8)

Boy howdy, dadburnit. Tried to replace a wheel cyl on the 69 but the fitting has become one with the line. No go, and no visible rust present just age. Hope it still has fronts. Nothing like an exercise in futility for a sunny 75° Sunday afternoon. Sometimes I forget loss management is about all I can manage.

The hood on the 78 f150 got cut and buffed. Now that the front is buffed, the rest will get cut and buffed also. That wasn't part of my original plan. :)

Spent the day picking up dead branches and limbs from the winter storms. Now I can mow.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I put off mowing to attempt car fix. Car still can stop eventually. :)

WZ, heres a link to the "fullsize" version on my blog:

That is double the size below but the actual full size is twice that. The original needed little cleanup and is on plain copy paper. Piece of cake, enjoy. :)

WOW, that's great.  I saved it to my photos and I will have a print made. Thanks again.

Just. WOW! I envy you guys who can draw cars (and other things) that actually look like a car.

I have no patience. Thursday, I texted a local tuner to work on my setup.  No response yet. After years of messing with this thing I really want to hear it run. I wish I understood how to set it up.

Also on Thursday I decided I better prime the oil system. I put a drill on the oil pump and it did what it should. Later when I was cleaning up I found an oil puddle under the rear of the motor. Saturday I dug in and removed the transmission, bellhousing, clutch, etc. I guess I should have put a rear main seal in it? That is one of the hazards of a very long term project. I forget what was and wasn't done.

Here is my project. It will be used for tractor pulling. The weight classes are 1350 and 1400 lb. That's with me on it. Tire size is limited to 26x12x12. They have to have no more than 4 cylinders.
EDIT; I see I didn't have the driveshaft cover on in the photo.

Nice work.  I will show this photo to Doug Lee.  I am anxious to hear how you do.  I see lots of hard work in this project.

As a side note Doug moved his car into the main shop last week to begin work on completing the car.

Beck, what are you using for an efi ecu? Are what appears to be 2 small levers under the steering wheel, turning brakes?
