Yesterday I helped Josh install a new garage door. He has a bid out to enlarge his shop from 22 by 23 to 22 by 48.

Today I helped Shelby and her husband  convert a Honda race car to meet the rules where they want to race. Used race car, hit pretty bad in the back. It was no big deal to straighten it out. Now we are down to the little things.

O&S plodded along and made 2 more bearing holders for the 51's clutch pedal. Just in case anybody is curious, they are .860" tall and the bearing recess is .3" deep. If the 51's hanger is the same as the one I just completed, I will have to shorten one of these to make the overall dimension correct. Better long than short. :)

70 Degrees F here today.  The forecast is for snow tomorrow morning.  Springtime in the Ozarks.  I did some more test driving of the 54 Chevy this afternoon and then I spray painted some parts for my daughters shop.  I could do that job today with the shop doors open but I will not be able to do that kind of work the rest of this week because of the upcoming weather.

I really like the way the car drives with the change to a 327 gear set in the rear.  The axle I replaced was about a 250 ratio.  This one is also a lot quieter also. I am anxious to see how it changes the miles per gallon of gas.

Now I think I will buy my wife an ice cream cone and then watch our youngest grandson practice baseball.  This is a lot better spring than last year.

We  went to Lowe's on Saturday and bought a Husqvarna lawn tractor, $1700 plus a few extra things. They give veterans 10% off, so we got $175 off the price. We used it Saturday, and it sounded like the deck wanted to disintegrate. You could hear it a block away. We returned it today, then went to Home Depot and bought a John Deere. A little more money, but it's got a 2 cylinder, so it should run with less vibration. Sorry, no vet discounts on JD products...it's the mfr., not HD. Oh well, but I also bought a mulching plug for it, JD brand. Oh, we can give you the vet discount on that. What? Geez.

We had picked one out of the 15 they had on the lot. This one was on the end, so unlocking the cable would be easy, plus it didn't have any nicks and scratches. Went to start it, battery was dead. The old outdoor guy changed batteries with the one next to it. *, it was getting cold and wet out there. Quit raining when we got home, and we tried it out. Very quiet, so I guess it was worth it.

It snowed here today, flakes the size of butterflies. Yesterday was full blast hardtoppin' temperature. Don't like the weather? Wait five minutes. May freeze tonight.

A little more serious of a colored pencil usage below (Crayola brand on sketch paper, 7x10" but cropped here). Freehand, no peeking at references. Cars I washed enough times, I can just about pull that off.

We did some painting on the new wood on the porch today.

A dental issue knocked me on my butt over the weekend.  Nerve in a tooth has died, developed an infection.  * , what a large amount of pain.   Probably most of y'all know 1 of 2 things happen.  Tooth removed and dealt with or root canal  and a fake crown installed. yada yada what fun eh?

With no dental insurance , it is on my nickle. LOL Nickle, thats funny.  I am too pretty for a missing tooth gap , so next week the work will be done.  Thankfully  the medications have worked well.  Since monday morning  Most of the initial pain is reduced.

My dentist has a cash program that cuts 40% off his insurance price.  Been going to this dentist for about 10 years. Probably helped him pay off a car or 2

One med gives me a headache... the Dr warned me on that. Makes me a little more goofy than normal. Only 2 more days on that med.

Tony,

My wife has been dealing with that same exact thing on her tooth. She got in to the dentist today and a round of antibiotics was prescribed but nothin for the pain.  My sympathies for you sir. My wife reminds me how painful it is but they will wait a week or so for the infection to go away... Then I may get some relief... Ha Ha Ha.... 8)

Another one of the bodymen at the shop started antibiotics same day as me, his for an ulcer where a wisdom tooth was. His pain has been unbearable. I finished meds yesterday. I know the choice between extraction and save on a tooth is pretty much add comma to dollar number. I needed four at once, once. Without insurance. Had four teeth pulled twice in my life and the last time they got a suprise that made the doc sweat. Count your blessings. Dentists and doctors do a great deal of damage to the rest of us humans.

I woke up to 2" of snow yesterday. It was gone by 10am. :) I had a discussion with a good dentist about needles and injections a few years ago. His reply was that dentists work closer to the brain and are invasive usually so pain management is very important as well as not making mistakes. I had a shot in the roof of my mouth once. That was abit unpleasant. :)

The artwork is looking good! Bet it feels good to get back to it. I am doing a painting of three dogs right now....I don't do animals, never have done one. This guy won a raffle we did to raise money for a Shootout race at a local dragstrip in June. I never thought he wouldn't want a car painting. 🙄

Must be the week for dental issues. I went Monday to have two fillings replaced. I never felt a thing, my dentist is amazing, no pain...ever...nothing. I went a couple years ago, was having some pain in a tooth, he looked and said "going to need a root canal on that"  and started doing it! There was NO pain, not during the procedure nor after, I figured the next day would be bad...nope, nothing, no pain! I like this guy! 😄

Aw heck. Painting fur  could throw a guy for a loop.  Stick a car in the background or show the dogs chasing one. :)  The art for a good cause thing never crossed my mind but...

Thanks, and it is. I may try some paint on board today (blank page syndrome, umm what subject matter) but one of these days I gotta set up my desk, ditch the clipboard / recliner jive and work larger. These colored (can't type that word on other forums) pencil works just do not photograph well, the gradation of tones is much smoother in person. Regular pencil looks like black ink, etc. Gets grainy when fixing the light.

Not likely but in case anybody happens to be unaware, theres temporary filling stuff in the denture care aisle. Works pretty good if a tooth chips next to a filling for example. I haven't had a crown come loose but its for that too. fyi

Matt, what's the name of the temp filling stuff? I had never heard of that. :)
The buyer of the 351w arrived today. I stored it in the shop for a month. His business went nuts and he wasn't able to get away. 325 miles one way to get it. He commented how rare those engines have become.
