My wife is getting her first shot tomorrow, and I get my second shot next week.  My wife and son both work in the kitchen at the local schools and they were going to vaccinate all, but the county changed those to give to another group.  Going to try something else with my son since he is only 42 and way down the list.

My employer is setting up injections on the 13th. The email didn't come out until after 6pm and I answered it less than 10 minutes afterward, so I should get in. The cutoff for agreeing to do it was 4:30 today, so I expect I'll be assigned a time within a day or two. I was pretty happy about it.

Mrs B will get higher priority due to some health issues she has, so I expect she'll be hearing from the state soon.

We are still scheduled for friday afternoon for 1st dose....

On the flip side:  I had a discussion with a different fellow at work.  Turns out he is an anti-vaxer.. Never gets flu shot, not getting the covid shot.  Only year his wife got sick with the flu was:  you guessed it, the year she received a flu shot.

The conversation was a calm one.  He saw my point of view, I listened to his view , the views are just different.

I finally got my First shot today. Local clinic was offering the shot so the wife drove down picked up the forms and made an appointment for 2:30 pm today.  There was minimal wait of 10 minutes and promptly got our shot and an appointment for shot 2 later in the month.

We had been watching this clinic but they would make an announcement at 5:30 am that shots were available and by 6:00 am they would be full. The wife saw on the clinics website this morning about 11:00 am that they still had shots available. She jumped in the car and got us both registered and we were taken care of.  It is the feeling of another weight slowly lifting from the gloom and doom.

My county has done a worthless job of getting vaccinations out to the people, especially their "Non Existent  list that they say they are using but they won't tell you where you are on the list or even if your on the list! I been on their list supposedly for 8 weeks now with nothing in sight from the county.  I am glad I was able to get into my local clinic and get my first shot.

So far NO side effects and I never even felt the shot. The lady with the needle was that good. My arm isn't even sore, Maybe tomorrow but for today all is well!!! 8)

Just to add,  My brother is a NON Vaxer. He keeps sending me information he has found showing how it is all a government conspiracy that the vaccine is bad for you and we will all be controlled by the government and when vaccinated our minds will be controlled by bill gates.   He is a little off base with his conspiracy's and government plots.....

Ol Gov Doug here is AZ lifted the restrictions on limits of people in businesses last friday..  Also put forth a requirement for schools to reopen for in person learning on March 15th.

Of course; You have people on both sides of the fence upset on these decisions.

On the flip side:  Wife and I received our first injections of the Phfiser vaccine last friday.  I must give credit to the volunteers. The process went smooth.  there were no unusual reactions for us with the vaccine injection.

My first shot of vaccine will take place around lunchtime on Saturday. I'm an "essential worker." I won't set them straight on that if no one else does.

It is interesting for me to note that I started this topic almost to the day one year ago.  What a year.  Today is Independence Day for me as it marks 2 weeks past my second shot of vaccine.  I have started doing lots of things that I did not choose to do for the last 12 months. However, I still abide by the CDC guidelines and just plain common sense. I have been to the Dentist and Optometrist for check ups, and I got a haircut.  I will post a photo of me with a years growth of hair taken earlier today before the haircut and then another later in the day.  The hairless photo is in front of my daughter's shop where I had just installed the sign I made for her a couple of weeks ago.  The sign was interesting as I had to roll a 3 foot ring from a piece of 1 1/2" steel strap to make the outside.  She sells a special line of women's clothing through her shop and over the internet.  The shop is more warehouse than a store as it is only open Friday and Saturday. It is called Hello, Sunshine Market.  If you are interested you can Google it.  That is my plug for the daughter.  She turns 40 this Friday.  40 seems young now.

We, wife and I, get our second dose of Moderna vaccine today. Hopefully no severe reaction. I have several friends and relatives that have had all different reactions, some have nothing, some very mild fever and aches, some have been bedridden. My daughter got the J&J single dose about 2 p.m. on Monday. By that evening she was not feeling well at all. She did not go to work on Tuesday, stuck in bed with fever, chills, nausea and a bad headache. I have commitments tomorrow, so I hope it's not too bad.

HyVee supermarket pharmacy gives the vaccine, but we had to get on their website last night at midnight to make an appt. It says that it will take 15 to 20 minutes to fill out the request, and you can't do it ahead of time. The form comes up at 12 sharp. By the time we had the requests filled out, all the appt.s were filled. Go figure.

On the 23rd of this month The wife and I will be getting the 2nd round of the Pfizer  Vaccine from my local clinic. I had previously been trying to get into our county vaccination program since January.
Last night I got an email from them saying I could make an appointment for my first dose from them. My wife whom registered at the same time was not invited.. This county health authority is the biggest joke around. The county is just dribbling out the shots and have no plans for high capacity vaccine stations. 1 little place is all they got... Makes me wonder how a local medical clinic can get more vaccine than the county....

All in all I feel lucky. I got my first dose and will get my second dose and be done with this waiting for a while. I did not have any side effects at all on the first dose and am hoping for the same on the second dose. then 2 more weeks and I might just stick my nose outside and smell the roses!!

My province has now opened up vaccinations to ANYONE over the age of 85 . We are more than a bit behind our neighbors to the south  I am still hoping to get the vaccine before the end of SEPTEMBER as our federal govt has promised us .
