Quote from: "chimp koose"My province has now opened up vaccinations to ANYONE over the age of 85 . We are more than a bit behind our neighbors to the south  I am still hoping to get the vaccine before the end of SEPTEMBER as our federal govt has promised us .

WOW that sucks up there. We are getting the age group 65 up and other groups of front line people but to joe middle age so sorry Charlie! We have moved teachers to the front of the line so we can get schools and such running again.. I know if I were a teacher I would want to be vaccinated before dealing with classrooms of kids!!

When I got my first shot I encountered something different. I went to sign in for the shot and realized I had left my wallet at hope. I asked the intake person if I needed to show my ID and she just said "Oh no we don't need that information as we have you name and birthdate on the form you filled out"!    Well now I could have been 50 and just filled out the form saying I AM 65.. I tell ya I was surprised at the lack of security there...

FINALLY got a call from our hospital system today that we can get our first vaccines tomorrow. They will make our second appt. for us while we are there. Don't know which one it is yet, but it's not J&J. The woman on the phone told my wife that after they used up their first allotment, they just couldn't get any more.

Yes rip , it sucks . I AM a teacher and we have been back in classrooms since September . Teachers here as well as first responders have not been prioritized . We take a spot in line like everyone else . Prison inmates and IV drug users are the next priority to my understanding .

Got my second dose yesterday. All was well till about ten hours in. Then it HIT, chills, with uncontrollable shaking, high fever, nausea, and some pretty bad aches. I couldn't stop shaking for about three hours and today it feels like I pulled muscles n my diaphragm area and legs! Took some Tylenol in the middle of the night and that helped the fever. Today I just feel like I got pulled through a knothole backwards. My wife fared much better, slight fever and mild aches, she got up, ate breakfast and went shopping! 😄 Small price to pay for the protection I now have. 👍

I'm about 2 weeks out on the 2nd dose. I know more people that didn't have a reaction than did. I wonder how I will fare????

Hopefully you have no, or very little, reaction. It seems to vary greatly. Most couples that get it seem to have one person with a reaction and one without. I did read an article online that said the reaction is more prevalent in younger people. It's thought that that indicates a strong immune system and as we age our immune system naturally weakens thus less reaction in older folks, although it have no bearing on the vaccines effectiveness. So, at least I can say my immune system is working well! 😄

We both got our Moderna shots today, and will get the second in early April. We both have slightly sore shoulers when we stretch. My knees ached a little more than usual, don't know if it's because of the shot. Wife is feeling a bit pukey. Like phat46 said, small price to pay.

Oh, and we're both tired.

I got the second dose of Pfizer yesterday.  Other than my arm is more sore that the last shot, don't seem to have any other symptoms.

First shot of Pfizer today. Second dose is tentatively scheduled for 4/2. Upper management is talking about reopening the office on 4/19, my birthday. I'm not sure how I feel with a diabetic wife who hasn't yet had a chance at her vaccine.

I'm a diabetic also and I've had both of my shots of Phizer and the only reaction I've had was a droopy ness on the next day. After the second shot a little more so. My wife is a volunteer at our county clinics and has not heard of any problem for anyone with that condition. GPster

We got our first Moderna shot Thursday. Sore arms, that's about it.
Ever since this started and the news was talking about vaccines my wife and I have never thought about not getting the vaccine.
But our closest friend is a anti vaccine person, and listens to all the radical news and believes everything he reads on the Book. We have had some heated talks. He is a good friend so we just avoid the subject now.

I received number 2 a few hours ago. So far, no side effects. Independence day is real close. :)

Hopefully nothing too bad, even then though it's worth it. This reminded me it's been two weeks today from my second shot, feels good.

Three weeks since the 2nd Moderna shot for us. We're good ever since...maybe too early for "I'm cured!" but moving forward

We have reports of anti vaccine people walking up to vehicles in line at a drive through vaccination center posing as employees and telling folks to go home as they had run out of vaccine . Some people are morally bankrupt !
