It is acrylic paint on gessoed hardboard. I improved my acrylic blending techniques on this one. Jerry Yarnell, (the painter) calls it dry brush blending. Would have been easier with oils. 😃

Well, i washed my truck and changed over to summer tires on thursday , so naturally it would have to snow today ! I was planning on mowing the lawn today and maybe putting the fish into the pond . Things change !

I painted the cowl induction hood scoop I made for the Ranger project.  I am waiting for the edging material I ordered to arrive, and then I can install the scoop on the hood, and then the hood on the truck.

I fabricated another baffle for the valve cover with the pcv.  It had been sucking oil instead of fumes.  The truck did not smoke but it was oil foiling the spark plugs.  I will know tomorrow if this solved the problem.  Then I can fine tune the jets in the carburetor.

Past couple years.. I have chased an off idle stumble in my 1962 Falcon with 200 cid inline 6.

Since the drag strip was closed and I adjusted the car to be more street friendly , this stumble came up. Accelerate from a stop or get back on the throttle from a slow down.

Accelerator squirt was weak and I have a Holley 500 cfm 2 barrel carb adapted to the log intake on the engine.  I change a few items.  Make adjustments. It was better, I give up till:  the past week or 2. I got Po'D and it was on. I ordered  parts.   Squirt nozzels, different cam wedge that move the accelerator linkage.  Neither helped.

Today (saturday) I took the carb bowl off again.. Checked it. Changed the bowl to a different one. I installed a new accelerator gasket bellows .. The same result.

I take off the billet Quick Fuel jet mid plate and start air checking passages on it for the accelerator fuel.  Well this expensive billet piece I bought 8 yrs ago is defective. I put compressed air into the hole for fuel transfer of the accelerator squirter... Air flows out about 4 different places on the plate.  3 of them are wrong. That explains why the fuel squirt was so weak just off idle and the engine would stumble.

I installed an OEM Holley jet mid plate and ALL is well now.  While drag racing the car , the throttle was not used lightly, so this weak accelerator stumble at light throttle was never a problem.

Not a good Mother's day here. My 93yr old mom lives on her own and was in the basement doing some laundry yesterday. She has a stair lift and when she got on it to go back upstairs she got tangled up in the mechanism and it didn't shut off like it's supposed to. She ended up with a compound leg fracture and some head injuries. She said it was terrifying. The fire department had to cut her out.

Doctors tried to fix her leg with rods but her bones are real brittle and her skin is very thin. We'll see how it goes.

It's a good thing she was wearing her medic alert button.

Oh man George! Sorry to hear this, I hope she can recover from this asap. This has to be so traumatic for her, and you! 😕

Sorry to hear that George . I hope your mother recovers well .

George:  sorry to read this about your mother.  Best to her on recovery.  Very Glad she had the medical alert device.

Stuff to think about: the medical alert device or cell phone near if older folks live alone. My wife's 74 yr old sister lives alone.  This week she fell in the bathroom after a shower. It is all foggy on the time line, but she laid there for hours till the 81 yr old sister walked up after no answer to phone calls and heard her sisters calls for help.  Door was locked. No body close had a key. EMT & fire dept  took the door apart to get in

Please, please : plan ahead, think ahead with older folks that live alone. .

Sorry to hear about your mother, George. Hope she heals quickly.

My 75 year old brother seems to fall now and then, but won't pay for the alerts. I did give him my old cell phone so at least he can call for help if he needs it. IF he carries it with him.
