Quote from: "enjenjo"We got home from North Carolina yesterday. I needed milk and Bread, found both at the local store. Today I went a got some more stuff, we are good for several weeks now.

Frank, I'm curious about which way you go to N.C. My daughter moved there 16 years ago and I have tried several routes. Using the Ohio Turnpike over to I-77 is probably the quickest, but most stressful and boring. I tried cutting the corner at Norwalk using Rt. 250 but too many towns and Amish buggies. Now I go to Findlay and down 23 to Columbus to 33 to Ravenswood W.V. About the same time s the Turnpike/expressway and much nicer drive.

I went the last way 75 to 15 to 23 to 270 to 33 to 77 to 52 to 421 to 40

Exactly the route I use. Is 421(business40) open westbound to 52 now? It's been closed the last few times I've gone. I see they are building a by-pass around that. I have also gotten off at Kennersville, short of 52 and taken 66 up to Mt. Airy area. Two lane roads but scenic.

Yes, 421 to 52 is open now. Frank lives in Kernersville now just off exit 28 on 421

Finished a painting, just have to decide what color, if any to make the frame. Also baked a loaf of bread today, the local stores were out the last time I looked. My wife usually bakes our bread, but she's watching grand kids 800 miles away. She coached me through my first loaf, it's delicious!

I like that one a lot! Besides your skills with the brush, your choice of subjects is really cool too.

Bread looks yummy too. At first I thought that was a painting too

Thanks George. I am going to do a series of three of these board trackers. All the same size and colors.

I thought so, too. What is your normal job? Should be an artist for sure.

Retired, always wanted to be an artist, but really hard to pay bills that way!

phat46 , I think a really neat frame for that picture would be an aged copper with a pattern rolled into it or hammered in.You are really putting out nice stuff! 8)

That's amazing...I have some of that "hammered" copper spray paint that I have usedd on a car painting I did in the same sepia tones, it looks great and is what I had decided to try! 😄 Not exactly actual hammered copper, but the same idea!

Guess the computer is all we have left to talk on, so I'll try to post some more.
Working hard on the 32 sedan.  Rebuilt the engine, it was a .060 over 350 with 12.5:1 compression, ran it all summer with timing back and premium fuel.   It was all in the heads (53 cc), changed the heads, cam, and  manifold, now at 9.5:1 compression.
Also replacing the dash with stock steel and a new Dakota gauge set ($$ ouch), complete re wiring and other new parts.
Staying busy as much as an old guy can.
Hope everyone stays well.

Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren\'t paved.

The sun is out and the pavement was dry.  I took the Ranger out for a test drive.  The shifter is still not right but closer to what I want.  I will redo that again tomorrow.

I pushed it a little harder on this test.  I did a rolling start and then let it shift on its on through the gears which was about 4,000 rpm.  It spun a little on the first shot but hooked up good after that and went straight.  I am still smilling.

I changed oil, serviced air filter, and mowed the yard. Decapitating weeds, pretty much. :)

Some yard work today..   Smoked some steaks and burgers.

I learned yesterday the local Swap Meet in early April was cancelled.

Likely most of you know a few of the Good-Guys events have been cancelled. the Arizona event was cancelled...  tickets will be good for event in November in Arizona.

I finally got the shifter in the 460/Ranger working correctly.  I had problems with the length and positioning of the shift arm on the transmission and with the location of the connection on the arm.  I can shift through the gears now.  So, if the drag strip was open, I could go make a few passes. The reality is that it will be some time before I will going to the drag strip.  I will set this project aside and work on other things.  There is work to do everywhere here.  Stuff that I have put off that hopefully will get done now.

So any guesses what the 460 Ranger will run?
