Quote from: "chimp koose"IDJ that's amazing . Hope everything goes smoothly

So far, so good and thanks. She is to move from ICU tomorrow.  :)

On another branch of my extended family, equally distant but dear, another sweet and pretty gal kin of mine but younger...

lost to lung cancer this morning. She was sitting with husband waiting for ambulance to go home in, as no more could be done.

This was a second cousin about my age, a childhood playmate just younger than I. My cousin just had the surgery. Strange emotional cocktail for the week, to both cheer and mourn with no moping about. Neither lady is/was close in adulthood but they are loved ones.

A man just thinks he is growed up until the grey years, then its grow time all over again, ain't it. I sure treasure my folks and bro.

Nothing home wrenchy to report. Doing alright. Thanks. Do look for a new job thread from me, that don't happen every day. There is no prewar anything anywhere in my stall right now (wierd!) and I swept until it shined a little. Tossed an epic stack of patterns. When its time to relax...(thats from an old commercial) :b-d:

Sorry to read on the loss of  a loved one IDJ  ... cancer sucks.

A former coworker dropped by thursday.. a short chat.  He lost his wife to melanoma cancer a few years back.

Sorry to hear about the loss, but also astonished at the other operation! It is amazing what can be done now!
My sister was to have a very much needed knee replacement in January, while checking her for the operation it was found that she had breast cancer. 😕 Before they could operate on the cancer she got severe kidney stones that needed a separate operation so she could have the cancer operation. After the cancer operation she had another kidney operation to actually remove the stones. That was one kidney, the other kidney will get an operation soon, after the radiation for the cancer. The cancer was caught early and prognosis is very good. After all this she will still need the knee replacement, then the other kneee too!  She is actually doing quite well considering all she has been through including her husband passing away, from cancer, four years ago!

Wow, that was a triple dip cone type initial doctor visit for her.    My bodyman cousin got new hips and knees just last year. Before that, Dad got both shoulders, and yet another local friend lady with colon cancer got a hip last year. I think a knee replacement will be like a light sneeze for your sis after all that. Random TMI: I passed over fifty stones in 2011, several about 3/16", all at once after 3 or 5 days of I'm gonna... what... drown internally? Doc did nothing and I thought it was curtains until ah.

Your condolence(s) is (are) appreciated. Might oughta just kept all that to myself but it don't hurt to let on that I'm a real person when life gets thick.   Not just the iffy metal guy with sketchy wit.:)

Most thing on my attention just now is a knot on my thumb from bumping it earlier and not icing it.

Minor investigation and more blue sky fix planning happened today though, for the GTP. Drove the DD GT then cruised the Model J GP briefly a few minutes ago. Hello mild pleasant weekend!  :P

Finished today, reflections are my Achilles' tendon, so what do I do....😜 It was fun and still needs a little fussing, (not happy with the coupes rear tire) but overall pleased.

Spent the afternoon in my shop working on a buddies harley project . We are getting near the end . I made some bracket pieces that will hold the rear brake caliper in place . Its a sliding bracket that bolts to a mount that needs to be welded to the frame . It will allow for a fair bit of for/aft placement of the rear wheel. I am waiting until the drive belt shows up ,then our welding instructor can TIG it in place. Neat bike , 110" motor that is modern , revtech , but looks like a pan head/ 6speed  . New frame that looks hard tail but has shocks under the frame . We did a springer front and it is a work of art with all hidden fasteners . This is the closest thing to anything running in my school shop . It would be a real boost to see something get finished around here .

After I finished messing with the 78, the cycles all got exercised. It was 65 degrees today. :) I'd like to think that will occur more often in the future but as soon as it warms up, the mess in the yard needs completed. LOL

Got the 65 merc running with the fixed gas tank and all the wiring squared away. Sounds pretty good  :) . I think I will put an electric fan in it . Need to adjust the brakes and put the hood back on .
