I cut two holes in the Ranger hood.  I am starting to make the cowl induction hood scoop.  There will be a bubble under the scoop to cover and seal the area where the distributor sticks up through the hood.  The air cleaner will be made with a seal to the hood so that all the air that is forced in through the cowl will go to the engine.

I will work some on the buck for the fiberglass scoop tomorrow morning.

My new valve train parts for the engine should arrive tomorrow.  I really want to go for my first drive.

John, is there a chance to do a teardrop from the Ford's in the 60's just to be brand sensitive?

I thought about it, and I always liked that style, but I think the cowl induction system will work better.

I went for a drive in the Ranger today for just a couple of miles.  I took it into town to have it safety inspected so that I could get the license.  It drove fine but it a little stiff.  It was ticking when I got back home.  My guess is that the cam is going bad.  I will investigate that possibility tomorrow.

Discovered a young, small rabbit is living in the yard. Under the reel box the garden hose is rolled up in.

Explains a few things I have seen in recent weeks.  Small holes dug. Bushes with missing foliage.  If one of the Horned Owls sees the rabbit out... Poof

was over watching a friend with his countach.. put a new clutch master cylinder on it.  the replacement was totally wrong.   wrong bore size.. push rod too short by about 3/8"  would just barely move the clutch lever..

so rolled the car out.. to await a flat bed to move it from one of his houses to another..

AAA called as usual..  then they called back and they refused. as the value of the car exceeded the insurance the contract AAA tow companies had..   i wonder what the heck happened to spook them.. did they get accused of damaging an exotic..

he just drove it to the other home garage in first gear. got out of the car with the biggest smile on his face.. he did not know you could do that. or that he could do that.

have you guys ever had a weird experience like that.

chimp koose

My experience is quite the opposite ,towing cost usually exceeds the value of the vehicle .

WZ, fingers crossed for sticky lifter and MMO says the Pontiac enthusiast who knows that feeling.

I am seeing critter holes too. The patch of clover around the loud car is irresistable and in spring theres a bunny sighting many mornings as they turn their ear radiators to face the sun.

Wayne, I drove my blown junk home in first a couple weeks back but wasn't smiling. I am on the last junk.

Oh, and that cousin of mine got out of the hospital. Resting in a hotel a few days before the journey home, and in a few months quality of life should be greatly improved. Just a happy follow up so ya know. :D

Glad to hear your cousin is better.

I am in North Carolina Visiting Fatcat and his lovely wife. We came down Tuesday. We got about 10 miles from his house, and the car quit. Battery was dead. I determined it was the alternator, I has a new one installed in January. So I called AAA and had it towed to a AAA location near frank. Wednesday morning I called the shop that installed it for me. it was a brand new one from NAPA with a lifetime parts and labor Warranty. So he sent me a copy of the invoice, which I sent to AAA. To my surprise NAPA did cover the whole bill. A pleasant surprise to me.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Ordering a few parts for the 78. How boring is that. :)

I feel like I dodged a bullet today. During the last year my PSA level has been rising faster than my Dr. was happy about. He sent me to a specialist in January and he thought we should do a biopsy. Last Monday I had that done, a trans rectal ultra sound biopsy, it's as much fun as it sounds. This afternoon the Dr. himself called me to let me know the results were negative! 😃 I'm sure others have been through this, but I feel like I got a reprieve! Now for a shot of good bourbon!

phat46, that's great. We're at the age that that scenario is common and sometimes swift and deadly. I have a friend that hasn't been so fortunate.

That's ecactly why I got the biopsy, my number was still in the normal range, but the PSA velocity was a little high so I got it done. Two of my brothers in law have had it, only one survived. I can't stress enough to all the guys I know how important getting tested is, the PSA, a DRE, and a colonoscopy. Not comfortable but not nearly as "uncomfortable" as cancer......
