This evening was more of a fix it time. The rear axle seals I had weren't correct. I was planning on replacing them when I did the disc brake conversion. After putting oil in the rear, they started leaking. I replaced them today and installed new studs in the axles. The originals weren't long enough to give a full nut on the wheel adapters. Back together until the brake parts are fabbed up.

Super pitiful update. I spent this evening de-gunking the mustang calipers for the rear. Insides all cleaned and kits installed. O&S at it's best. :)

Semi short version: Last night I placed the mustang front calipers on the rear axle of the f100. It was obvious that there was a clearance problem. The mustang rotors were about 1" thick. The f150 rotors I'm using on the rear are 1.2" thick. I machined .190 from the caliper holding brackets so the caliper can center and float properly. Tomorrow I fab brackets to attach to the rear axle.

Afternoon break at REALLY O&S! :) I made a bracket this morning and didn't like it. That prototype went to the pile. This one is better in many ways. I don't have the correct length bolts to hold the caliper to the bracket yet but the rest of it is finished. These were front brake calipers so there is no emergency brake. They have a 2.5" piston which is the same size as the gm caliper that is used real often.

This won't surprise anybody. The 2nd took 1/4 as long as the 1st and they're nicer. :) Mounting bolts cut to length and ready to move to the next item. :)

End of day tired body update. The pics are of a little problem I found on the fuel tank. The threaded ring wasn't centered properly before welding to the tank. I had to run a tap through the holes to get the screws to be able to thread in. The fuel pump assembly minus the hose that won't be here until monday is ready for install. :)

Good to see the progress.  but:  I am with ugly old Bob... on the use of mustang parts.  Be careful.

To the best of my memory, the brake pedal hanger is all that's left from the 96 mustang not including the tires and wheels that are on the chassis now that are "roll arounds" . Surely the gift that keeps on giving has worn out by now. :)

Brain dead. :) I had to make a cover where the factory fuel gauge opening was. I had to redo the float arm that I made already. It wasn't going to clear the sump for the fuel pump. I sure spent a lot of time to reuse the c.v. parts. :) I took the c.v. fuel line and ran it along the frame. It would work but it's too ugly so I'll have to get a few splices and run new line.

Just another manic monday evening here. :) The pics are of the fuel pump assembly before installing in the tank. New fuel line, not show quality, just effective. There will need to be tube hold downs at the tank and the engine after more parts are installed.

I am still trying to figure whether all this technical mechanical stuff is goobledygook or mumbo-jumbo. But I can see how the fairly upright tank design can be a stick in the spokes of these Panther trucks. How tall is that pump? And thats another thing, is this animal to be a horse, a big cat, or something that carries farm feed? Genetic engineering at work. :)

Matt, quick answer. The cv tank was around 18" tall. The truck tank is 10.5" Tall. The pump and gauge is one unit in a cv. I had to separate them to get them in the hole. The original plan of the truck was to a useful truck. Modern updates and bed that is able to be used. Probably have a trailer hitch also. Remains to be seen how this ends. :)
