I am computer programmer manage a small team have a great work environment extremely understanding bosses
to my rodding interests (they want them finished!) but they are F1 freaks. I build financial applications. work too long days.
been doing it for 14yrs (boy thats sounding long) enjoy doing it.
Have two rod projects going at the moment 37chev 4dr and 28 chev pickup. both are doing well.

retire can I retire at 40? Nah my company wont let me. anyhow that was the plan bu tI cant see it happening.

Hello, my name is Steve and I am an RRTer and a HAMBer to.  How did this happen to me?  I came from a nice family in California.  My parents did their very best to raise me up right.

But, when I was 17 I rebelled and joined the Army.  After 13 years squandering my youth in the flesh pots of Europe, Asia, and even Kings Cross I got out and did four years worth of partying in two semesters at the University of Tampa.  

Broke and in desperate need of a gig I took a simple little Civil Service job at nearby McDill AFB.  It was just to tide me over until something better came along.  26 years later I retired.  It just happend.

Along the way I owned a Model A coupe, a Porsche 912, a Corvette, a Porsche 356, a Volkswagen, a Mazda rotery pickup, a Porsche 550 spyder kit car, a Chevy S-10, a V8 Dodge Dakota, and a 32 Ford roadster.  All of them modified in some way.  And I was always subscribing to Car and Driver, Hot Rod, Street Rodder and other magazines.  In my heart I dreamed about building a real California hot rod.  The kind I lusted after when I was a kid.  But I was spending all my time and money on women and strong drink and waisting the rest.  There was no time or money left for a real hot rod.

My partying days came to an abrupt end when I was 42.  My work brought me to Blythville AFB in rural Arkansas.  You would have thought I would know better, all that experience, but I made the mistake of asking the wrong girl to dance.  Faster than you can say "SooooooEeeeeeeePig" I was cooked meat.

The good side of this is that my career took off and money started to collect in our bank accout.  Not a lot, but enough so that when I retired we could build our (her) dream house, my shop, her swimming pool, and my roadster.

Life is as good as your friends and that is why I am proud to be an RRTer and a HAMBer to.

I'm a 43 yo father of four,(not all to the same woman), and in my spare time I am a computer systems admin and techo at a local school, kindy to year 10.

I spent most of my early employed life in the tyre and wheel sales industry and have been playing with cars all of my life.

I now have a interest in pre48 hotrods and spend lots of time in other peoples sheds helping them get theirs finished, and drinking their beer, thanks Choco .

I don't waist time on my own projects anymore, I just get them finished in as short a time as possible and then drive the doors off of them.

Owned an auto parts store for over 20 years.  Got tired of the crap and sold out to one of the majors.  Now I'm in the marketing department of an aftermarket auto parts manufacturer.  Great job and benefits; much better than being self employed.

I have been a Special Education teacher for the last 30 years, coached Special Olympics, and regular ed. basketball, and I AM RETIRING AT THE END OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR.  I had a few cars when younger but got out of the hobby for a while.  Started building cars again about 15 years ago.  Now I can build a few more and would like to try and make a few bucks at it, but will probably get a part time job with no stress and no wierd parents or administrators.

Hello, my name is Dolly.

I'm the love child of one Rayvyn and a Miss Barbie, following an incidious relationship as the result of too much booze and The Rayvin spiking my mother's drinks.

Nine months later I was born in Noo Joisy, a few years later, after a life of torture and depravity at the hands of my incestuous father, he dumped me in an abandoned parking lot on a wet misserable August night whhilst attending the NSRA Street Rod nationals.  

Fortunately I was rescued by a gentle and kind hearted, caring and sharing Australian, who just happened to be passing by at the time.  He took me home and nursed me back to health before getting my mind straigtened out so I could finally lead a normal life.  Since this good fortune befell me, I've grown as a person and prospered, making freinds all around the world and developing my own business interests in the fashion and publishing industry.

Unfortunately, stunning looks fame have their problems and recently I've been stalked by a poor deluded soul who thinks he is my boyfreind.  My real boyfreind is actually a very successful race car driver and once I have finsihed my summer vacation at home with Carps and his Aussie buddies, I'lll be heading back to Europe to join my beau, Ted Shoemender (AKA Shooee) on the F1 circuit.

The good news is I may be on my honeymoon come August and we plan to join Carps for his tour of US rodding events where I'm looking forward to meeting you and catching up with old freinds.  Just so long as that nasty Rayvyn doesn't show his ugly face.

Previously swept the floor at a diesel truck terminal............got me a better gig........sweep the floor at a pharmacy. haha. im also a clerk there, on the weekends.

Graduate High School in less than 2 months.  

Gonna go to Community College for 2 years.

Thinking of going to Business School after that. Id like to maybe own a restaurant or some other type of business. I think I would be good at that. I like to talk to people and Im good with money. Dads own businesses before, I have an idea of what it takes to run a business.  

Or maybe become a teacher? I think that would be cool. I would like to be a shop teacher.  

My dad owns his own fastener business. Sells nuts, bolts, clips, all that sort of stuff for cars.

Pro-Fasten Automotive Hardware is what he calls it. Hes a pertty good business man.

I'm an unemployeed software project manager (I have my own business but it ain't doing too good).  Retired from a major telecom (RBOC) after it was aquired by another large telcom (RBOC).  21 years of labor in that industry.  Joined a small telecom software firm and rode that horse until they went out of business a year later.  Thought I could do some consulting and have been playing with that since.  I gotta get a better gig....

I have several projects: 37 Plymouth 2 dr sedan, 65 Fairland 2 dr sedan, 39 Plymouth PU, a couple of Ts, etc.

If any of you need a Ford 9" tracloc, drop me a line.  That's how I make money for my car habit!

Im an electronics tech by trade, and now work as a renewable energy consultant.
I have my own business and design and build sepcialist alternative power systems using solar energy, wind power etc for domestic, business, industry and government. I also repair and rebuild systems that others have done that didnt work properly (thats the bit I hate the most - fixing other peoples rubbish).
Ive been brought up with cars, helping my recently departed father fixing them from a very young age. I built a T-bucket in the mid 80s, sold it to go motor racing for a few years where I earned my nickname "Mr Cool' due to my driving style, and its stuck with me ever since. I then got a mortgage, got married and had 3 kids and thats when I got back into rodding, much more affordable than racing. Ive met alot of people and made many new friends over the last few years from all over the country.
I did however manage to keep some of my cars through all that, for which I am lucky.
