Took the bad engine out of Shelby's car today. Her boyfriend did most of the work while I made a mandrel to modify a transmission slip yoke.

Assessed paint and glass damage to two of my vehicles from inconsiderate and illegal neighbors' fireworks. Angry as can be!

UGLY OLDS

Recovering from a neat week end in Des Moines .... Looks like "Mobility Scooters" will be a part of my car show life from here on ...  :(   They work great .. I did not take out a single spectator , crash through any doors , etc ..
I did get to see LOTS more cars & such "scooting" in place of walking ... 8)

And NO pain meds were needed for the entire weekend .

Hung the gate today. It seems I made it the right size...not always the case when I make things at home for the cabin.

The gate looks good George

I spent half the day driving around Toledo looking for parts to rebuild a couple floor jacks. I found enough parts for one, a cheap import, but a better jack, also imported, I had to order the seals for that one on line. I put one jack back together, the other one is near done, but will set until I get the seals.

I spent the rest of the day modifying a slip yoke for a conversion I am building.

Built most of a set of travel limiters for a friends fairlane . Trimmed up a rear fender for another buddies chopper we are building . Started mounting interior trim around the front windows I installed last summer. my summer to do list keeps getting longer.

Cleaned my dual cone air filters.  First time in 10 years and still not a whole lot of dirt in the bucket.  Thinking I may not have a large enough of an opening and I may be starving the engine of air.  I don't know how to do the calculations.  Still looking for the answer.

You multiply 3 1/2 hp by two, and divide by Briggs and Stratton. A couple cigarette filters should do it.

Well, it's a long story. My arthritis has been doing real well lately, me not so much. Wednesday evening I drove to Crawfordsville In. on my way to pick up some soda for Frank's store in Montecello Il. The bed there did not agree with me, so I did not sleep well. After loading up, and driving back home, I fell asleep on the couch about 9 pm. I woke up with my knees hurting about 2, so I got up, took some pain meds, and surfed the internet until they kicked in.

Now, fast 401 swears that his motor is not a Briggs, but it says so right on his key.

Boy howdy ....  Frank.  I can relate.  My arthritis in my back has been doing well lately. Minimum side effects from the meds.

But:  my left hip has been acting up a few times here n there for 2 yrs.  In recent weeks, the hip has ramped up the pain frequency.  Will need a doc visit soon.   My much older brother had his right hip replaced 4 yrs ago.   He is 7 yrs older than me.

Count me in on this arthritis thing!  The middle of May every and I mean every joint in my body started to hurt, Lost all my strength in my arms and hands..  Shortening up the story, I was tested for lyme disease rhemutoid factor and something called  parvo virus 9.  All came back negative.  Sent me to a specialist who thinks it may be a virus as my blood count was a little high.  Wait  6 weeks and more bloodwork and xrays.  I see him again on the 22nd.  Meanwhile most joints are back to normal except for my wrists and hands-  no strength and stiff to move. So that's why I've been quiet lately; cant do much wrenching and twisting.Tom...
