They drove from L'ville, KY to Joplin, MO (550miles) thru the night and then stopped at WZJunk's so Frank could have a sleep.  John took Andrew and Scooter out for breakie I guess and a tour while Frank slept and now they'll go to lunch then hit the road.

Pass the word if anyone is looking to get a car shipped from SoCal to the midwest somewhere Frank can bring it back for them and get his expenses paid.  I'm going to post something on the HAMB as well but if anyone visits other sites and reads that someone is looking for transport east to let Frank or myself know.

The boys left here about a half hour ago.  I fed them lunch at the Gearhead Cafe before they left.  It was a great visit and I was tickled that they stopped by.  They are having an adventure.

I think they both had the plate lunch special.  No brew for the two of them as they had lots of driving ahead of them for the next couple of days.

I hope we get some updates as they make their trip west.

This confirms one thing to me,that the folks in the USA are pretty much like Aussies, open and friendly, who will go out of their way for a mate ,or even a stranger in trouble.
Hot Rodders also ,does not matter where they be,they are family.
....Frank.

You might want to post it up on the fordbarn.com also.

Good luck with the balance of your adventure boys.

I'm not a member there and would not feel comfortable posting something there.  If you would like to feel free, it's a great idea.

Ok update for Sunday and Monday.

Started off in a high after the trans shop managed to get the uni that we needed over night and fitted on Sunday morning by 8:30am, and we were back on the road :D

But not for long only 50 miles down the road she let go again............

We managed to patch it up and limp into Louieville and contacted Denice and Frank and help was on it's way.

So we spent the day wandering around the city, (thanks Joe for the ride) and sat and waited for Frank to arive.

We got loaded up and hit the road, by now it was 10:30pm and we just drove and drove and drove, by 8:30am we were near Joplin Missouri, some 550 miles down the road.

Frank has a friend here, John who invited us in and put the kettle on

Does anyone remember this clever roofing idea??

John showed us his shed while Frank had a shower and 40 winks, then he took us to see a few of the locals.

This F100 is for sale it has a clear title and is only $1250

Anyone for a 32 chev coupe??

then we went to the local Diner for lunch.

So after lunch? you guessed it we hit the road again

We went under the biggest McDonalds in the world

And this is just some of the stuff you see when you are cruisin Route 66....

So, NO the adventure is not off, it's still full steam ahead :D  :D

Ok it's Tuesday night and we are now between Albuquerque and Gallup new mexico, had another good day on the road and found heaps more old tin, and a few cool land marks.

This is a kool old gas station in Shamrock Texas.

And look what we found just down the road............

Then we stopped for lunch, and low and behold Bazza must be cruisin america too, because we found his caravan in the car park.

And we had a hankerin' for some steak, so stoped off in Amerillo

But this guy must be a bit hungrier than us he ordered the 72oz steak, if you can eat it all in under 1 hour it's free.

This is part of the dining room.

Glad you are still managing to get a " a'ventuwe", as my boy used to say, even with the glitches.  Sometimes they are the spice that adds to the whole thing, even if they are a PITA.  And, you've even managed to get a native guide to help you along; good on ya', Frank.  I'm in Las Vegas, a bit off the path that you are on, but if you come through, and need something, I may be able to lend a hand, or a foot, or a yard to park your stuff in - security at the casinos can be a bit chancy.  You can contact me by Private Message if you need to.

Not sure how much acess Frank has to the internet so I'll fill you in.  Frank is planning on stopping in Vegas on his way back but since his son lives there I'm sure he has it covered.  I do believe he will be in Vegas Thursday (tomorrow) night??  Thanks for the offer.

Very welcome; if there is family here, that's so much better than a grumpy ol' guy he's never met.  I figured I'd offer, just in case.
