Quote from: "GPster"I quess I need for someone to sit me down and tell me the facts of "Real Life". When the first chevy truck door wasn't going anywhere I looked further down the Ebay 1950 Chevrolet truck page and there was a pair in Missouri. This guy had a pair and was willing to ship. He suggested Greyhound so I sent the enquiery and ask him if he knew how much. The doors I have would make my patch panels and I like the full glass with-out vent windows anyway ( it's cold and windy today so I'm re-considering the choice that door glass wasn't necessary). I don't feel right about asking the guy to shop prices on shipping, especially on a weekend. Anyone got any ideas on shipping from Missouri to Ohio? I'm not a cheapskate but I am frugal. I have trouble thinking about spending $120.00 to ship $100.00s worth of doors ( if there is no more action on the bidding than there is now). You've got about 8 hours to help me make up my mind. GPster

GPster, I live in Rolla, 60 miles south of jefferson City. Is there anyway I can help you. I've been trying to get a message to Enjenjo. By the way, I have two rust free one piece glass door shells for the advance design trucks(late 47-50) Sam

Rodder's Roundtable / Indy 2003 Photo
October 24, 2004, 10:06:32 PM
Denise, in the Indy 2003 photo-on John's (wz junk)right with the beard is Walt Johnson from St.Louis recently relocated to Indy. Walt drives a black cherry 47 Chev. Aero Sedan. In front of Walt and to his right with blue ballcap is Ed. I don't remember his last name. Ed is from St. Louis and runs with us. He drives the yellow 70 or 71 Monte Carlo convertible. On John's(wz-junk) left is Gary Bess from Buffalo, Mo. Gary drives a black 32 five window. On Gary's left in the black Tee shirt with "stroker mc gurk" hat is Danny Otis from Rolla, Mo. That's me beside you. On my left is Ron Ritchey from Rolla, Mo. Ron drives a red 32 3 window with license "hi flyin". Anyway hope this helps. I'm looking forward to seeing the scrapbook. Thanks to you and Shelby for your hard work. Sam

Quote from: "enjenjo"Well, as you might have noticed, I'm home. Great  vacation, until the cruise control quit working, that was right after the crank broke.

We traveled 6,500 miles in three weeks in 11 states, attended Louisville Bonneville, and the HAMB drags. The RRT BBQ works like a champ, we cooked 70 lbs of burgers, 20 lbs of brots, and 15 lbs of hot dogs, along with 15 dozen ears of corn, and 30 lbs of potatos. We got enough in donations to pay for all the food, buy some needed accessories, and some left to finance another canopy to take with us to events.

We made use of the BBQ all through the NATS, cooked on the salt at Bville, cooked in the Motel parking lot in Wendover, and saved the day at the HAMB drags after there was a problem with the pig roast they did.

We can grille, boil , and fry just about anything now, we still need a lid so we can smoke stuff, and an oven for Denise to bake cookies in

The BBQ project has been one of the funnest things I have been involved in, and I want to thank everybody involved, from the builders, who traveled in some cases, thousand of miles at their own expense, to the ones who donated parts and supplies, to those who sent funds for materials and food.

The trailer picked up a few minor dents, scratches, and scorch marks, well on it's way to a patina that will give us many memories. You can see it next at Kzoo in sept, and next year, who knows where it might show up.

Frank, you're an excellent cook. Enjoyed the food at Louisville and you really saved us at the H.A.M.B. Drags. I know it's hard work and we really appreciate it. later, Sam

Thanks again to all of you for one of the best vacations in my life.

Quote from: "Crosley"We watched him run 207 mph on sunday

I am still in utah  on one of those rent-a - computers.

I haven't heard from them since Sunday night. Hooley offered to let Wz qualify in it. John said he was just too tired. That may have changed though. They are to head for home tomorrow. Is it raining there? The weather channel girls showed isolated thunderstorms near Salt Lake each day. Sam

Rodder's Roundtable / So, where were the Cookies?
August 10, 2004, 04:50:36 PM
Quote from: "HotRodLadyCrusr"Plenty of cookies, they were served for dessert on Thursday evening after our BBQ and also at the 12 noon meet and greets both Friday and Sat.  There were even a few left over that were in a tupperware container on the grill for a bit afterward on Sat.  Plates of cookies were also delivered to a few of my favorite vendors.  Sorry you missed out.

As a side note, please don't miss the cookies at the HAMB Drags as they will be the last cookies made for quite a while, as in at least a year.

Denise, I totally intended to ask about the cookies but after that "Hello, how ya doin Sammy" hug I got all confused.  Sam

Quote from: "N8DC"Sue and I got back from louisville today about 3:30 michigan time. We made a stop in Ft Wayne to see the grand daughter. All i can say is what fun !!! We had a great time met some new people and some we have met before. The show was great and cooler this year. Lots of neat cars pro built and rat rod they were all there. I found the most fun part to be the party in the motel parking lot after the show in the evenings. Ive got a few pics to look at and maybe post a couple but i really didnt take a lot i kinda messed up there cause the party pics would have been great. Sue and I missed the bbq in the evenings for one reason or another but the grille on wheels looks good . Ill be there for the kzoo cook outs..
Im wondering why i havent seen any other posts??? I hope everyone else made it home ok. I guess bob and frank and george were heading to bville and neil aka pope down under who we met on i think friday evening and his friend were heading to detroit to the henry ford museum then off to bville. We saw them in the lounge at the motel last nite and said our good byes and headed to bed. A couple of real nice guys...
Well ... waiting for replies..

Brother, I have a complete Mallory Unilite ready to go. Like others, I didn't trust it for the long road trips. I replaced it with a stock single point. Call me if you need it. Sam
