Sorry to hear the sad news. All I can do is echo what's been said already. Losing a lifelong friend makes a hole that is difficult to fill.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.

A few years ago I lost a very close friend, so I know how you feel. He was always there for me, and gave me the strength to get through a bad divorce.

He had a massive heart attack, and I didn't even get to say goodbye to him, and I cried like a baby at his funeral. Friends like this only come along so many times in your life, and you have to cherish the memories you have of them when they pass away.

I wish you and his family well, and offer you my sincere condolences.
