OH DUH!! You know I thought thats who that was in the pic!!! that was a long time ago and the first time I met everyone !!
I'm not sure I guess we will prob leave so we arrive about 10-10:30 or so.
A Surprise?? for me!!!! COOL  can't wait.

After chatting with a number of folks that are attending all four days, setup Thursday & 3 show days, we've kinda came up with some Meet and Greet times that should cover just about everyone who's attending that actually wants to meet up with other RRT/HAMB folks and chat for a bit. If someone is attending and none of these times are convienant, please say something and they can be modified. Nothing is set in stone, these times are just a starting point. We kinds followed these same times last year and had quite a crowd of folks that wanted to meet each other.

Like it's been stated in previous posts on the HAMB, the traditional rides will be located on the lower level. The stairs to the lower level are located to your left when walking in the main front doors, left front corner. From what I've been told there will be a traditional ride at the top of the stairs so this area will be easier to spot. The HAMB rides will be located down there and would make a logical meeting place. Look for HotRodDrummer, Ionia Hot Rod Shop's shop truck, Plowboy's Spacetruck, Starliner's Starliner, Donzie's Fleetline just to name a few. We have a HAMB banner that we'll try to hang or display.

Thursday 2pm and 6pm
Friday 2pm and 6pm
Saturday 2pm and 6pm
Sunday 2pm (tentitive cuz don't know when the traditional awards are going to be given out)

I plan on bringing a couple of coolers, one with pop (of course Mt Dew included), the other with beer. Roadstar and I will fill them up once, Thursday. There will be a coffee can in each for donations. The money in donations will be used that nite to purchase beverages for the next day. No donations, no beverages the next day. Also, please don't go overboard with the donations, just something normal to pay for the pop or beer you drank. With food and drink being very expensive there this might be an effective way for all of us to keep costs down.

As far as parking downtown, for those that have never been, the cheapest and easiest is the roof on the top of Cobo Hall. Follow the signs from the freeway. It's less then $5 for all day, and most of the others places will charge you $10-12. Under Cobo Hall garage parking is inexpensive as well but from what I understand the front of Cobo is torn up and I'm not too sure if the underground parking is accessable.

Options for food are somewhat decent down near Cobo Hall. There are two bars on the side of Cobo, across the street. One's called Cobo Joe's, the other is The Post Bar. Both a decent bar food and a sports bar type theme. Another choice would be a couple of coney island hot dog places located on Layfette St(sp?). If you left the front of Cobo and turned to your left, you'd walk up about 2 short blocks to Layfette, then turn right and go down a couple of blocks. One place is called Layfette Coney Island the other is called American Coney Island. Both have really good hot dogs, chili and loose hamburgers.

If you really want an eating adventure, head to greektown. From the third level of Cobo Hall take the "People Mover" $.50 each way) to the Bricktown exit. When you exit the little station look across the street and to your right. There's a place called Niki's that has really good, inexpensive food for Greektown. Another option, stay on the "People Mover" till the next exit which is called Greektown. Exit the bulding, turn to your right and go to the corner. Your should be standing on the corner of Beaubian and Monroe. Look across the street and to your right a bit. There is an awesome deep dish pizza place called PizzaPopalous (sp?). While standing on that same corner, if you turn to your left and go down about half a block theres a nice restaurant called Fishbones. Good food, very nice atmosphere. There are a ton of other bars and restaurants in this area, I just gave you a few examples. There is also a casino in Greektown and another one near Cobo Hall.

Saturday nite I'm hosting bash at my place. Nothing fancy just a bunch of folks hanging out, drinking, eating, bench racing and getting to know each other. Anytime after 7pm would be cool. I'll serve some type of food and pop but why don't you guys bring your own beer and/or hard liquor. I'm easy to find, 4 blocks off the freeway. Mapquest my address. 29129 Oriole, Livonia, MI 48154. There are rumors there will be midget *, nakeed twister and transvestites in hot oil. I'll certainly have my camera ready. Reality is there will probley be 20 guys to every girl there, the HAMB Drags on my big screen TV, and certain HAMB members drunk wearing fur coats. In any event, should be a great time with cool folks. One thing though, I'm dead set against drinking and driving. If your coming to my party and drinking, your better have a DD or plan on spending the nite. I'm not against tying ya up and taking away your car keys.  

I'm working on a special tour for Sunday morning of Lear. My buddy runs the crash test dummy lab there and has in the past given my out of town buds a awesome tour of the place. More details to follow once the plans are in place.

The weather here has been cold and we have a few inches of snow. Nothing on the roads though, in most cases except my street. Dam snowplows don't even know my street exists sometimes. Updated weather/road conditions early next week for those that are driving their cars in from outta town.

Well I think I covered next weekend pretty good.  If anyone has any questions, just ask. Also, if your planning on attending the Saturday nite shin-dig sign off so I can kind of get an idea on how many to plan for food. I'm stoked!
