Wife and I went to the state fair in Springfield today. Turned out to be Veterans Day, so we both got in free (Vet and family). I haven't been there for probably 40-45 years. Ate the required junk food, grabbed a bunch of free goodies, and saw the life size butter cow. Don't remember seeing it the last time I was there.  Came home and mowed the lawn.

You folks enjoy those days....??  3 outta 5 things: you drop , trip over something, drop something again, set something down then cant find it?  yeah , mine was saturday and sunday (today)...

Eating dinner;  I am being very careful because of my recent sh***y days and yes , food hit the floor.. It jumped right off my fork. I cleaned up the floor mess after knocking the roll of paper towels off the counter top..... so I tossed the remainder of food in the trash. Cleaned up  more stuff.  Sat down where it was safer to do nothing.  Read stuff on the phone for a while.

My back has mostly recovered from last week. It has been months since the back gave me fits.  The stenosis in my spine and vertebrae decided to remind me of who is in charge.

Paintings of the automotive art  look goood....   :!:

Tony, my back used to give me fits, and the chiro didn't help for very long. I finally bought a Teeter inversion table and used it when my back was bothering me. I haven't needed it for quite a while.  When I do, it's there in the basement waiting for me.

My body shows me who's boss with headaches. Two neurologists two neurologists two neuroligists and a neuro-surgeon told me there's nothing wrong in my head my head.  Going to a TMJ dentist today who is going to inject some anesthetic in two places behind my ear to try and get rid of the pain. Will see how that works.

I can sympathize, Tony!   ....In 2 days, I'm having 4 vertebrae cut to relieve pressure on my spinal cord.  ...Don't know what to expect afterward.

I had back surgery 32 years ago, but that was a much simpler surgery on a herniated disc.

My steering rack came in yesterday, five days late, and was brought by FedEx on a sunday.. It's ready to put in as soon as I have some help. Then I worked on assembling a tilt steering column, I have to do some machining on the shaft before I can finish it. I also made a couple more parts for my winch mount. This is going to be fancy with a solar powered battery charger and all.

Best of luck with you.. An MRI in 2011 diagnosed my stenosis and 11 defects in my lower lumbar L-1 thru 5..  Thankfully my defects do not press inward to the spinal cord. They do however press on some nerves or the bulging discs move out of alignment (?).. and get very angry. It causes me leg & feet pain and cramps.

Phil: a friend's teen aged daughter suffered with headaches , migraine level that could trigger a seizure.  They tried acupuncture and finally a body piercing inside her ear.  Not the ear lobe , inside the ear on a place next to the ear opening. The girl received relief from both ear piercing and acupuncture.  Not completely gone , but way improved.  It was one of those deals the doctors were telling mom:" she should grow out of this" ... Mom was asking WHEN ? !

Up in the hills of AZ.. Weird being 55*F outside.  No AC screaming at
us in the RV seems weird.

This photo is just before we head out of town.

Up in the hills... It was 67*F , just before the rain storm rolled in. Goldwing is sitting there under cover between the RV and truck.

Not too interesting but:

Our first Road trip up the hills with the RV followed the same path my retirement has been. Storms were rolling thru the area. We had rain, wind, hail, rain, some fog from low clouds, rain too.  No snow tho.

My initial retirement in 2020 was cloudy.. No meat, taters, paper products in the stores. I went back to work for 8 months.  Re-retired after 15 months of pandemic stuff..  Only to walk into more pandemic stuff 2.0

We keep moving on.

I went to the Lake Scott rod run today. It's about 140 cars. I got to visit with many long term friends. Weather was good. It was a very pleasant day. :)

Road trip up to Holbrook AZ area on friday. Been a few years since we were there.

Basic tourist attraction Geronimo  on the I-40 freeway west of Holbrook..  The place is falling apart. The building is in rough shape. Skylights are broken and repaired with tar paper and Henrys black roof tar goo.

Took a ride out south east of Show Low to Eager , Greer towns on saturday.  Never been to Greer. Very small town. Cabins and kayaks seem to be it.  Reached an altitude of about 9k feet. Weird being in 65*F temp in the middle of the day in August for this desert rat.

I did this painting a couple days ago and was unhappy with it. I posted it on my personal FB page expressing my disappointment with it. A mutual car friend saw the posting and knew the owner, I had taken a picture of it at s local show. He sent the picture to the owner and hr ended up buying it today! What do I know about what's good and what isn't? 😀

I was perusing old car art on web yesterday and y'know... thats kind of a style people seem to be digging. Your abstract backgrounds might jive with a certain decor, or clash, but if the right person has the right spot for it and they see it... hey, yeah that might be a sale! Continue following your gut. I have had the urge to paint lately but not finding inspiration. Thought about a suit of armor perhaps. Meh. But your red panel truck reminds me I ought to render the 51F1 with '52 hood nose trim like your subject matter there. :)

I just mowed and half-tamed weeds. Hit the store this morning. Not gonna ask much more of myself today, its hot. I am off all week and its looking like mid 90s straight through. Might trip up to the nearest A/C shop tomorrow with the GT. If I can figure out how to get a ladder to my house I might fix stuff at some point but its lookin like not much to do but art under the window unit this week. I'll take it.
