I went to a driveline shop today to get a driveshaft made for my '46 Chevy. It needed to be shorter than the one I took out, but since that one was pretty crusty I wanted new. The slip yoke was junk too so a new one for that too. I stopped by the shop at 10:30 a.m., then went to a green house place with my wife. We got home just after 1 p.m. and at 1:30 they called from the shop and said the driveshaft was done! 😲 Now I see why the local car guys recommended that shop. It's a half hour drive each way but worth it.

One of them, but the holdup now is the lower rad hose. One was supposed to be delivered by Fed Ex today according the their tracking. It's 9:13 p.m. so I guess it won't be today. The problem is that the fan shroud I made can't be installed till the hose is on, the fan can't be installed till the shroud is on and the rad can't be installed till the fan is on....😜

I am in USPS shipping He**  again.  Yes: it is an eBay purchase. Possibly my last for a while.

Ordered on April 30th (friday) ...  seller got the item handled on Monday May 3rd...  Shipment tracking on May 4th and then nothing.  Expected delivery was May 7th.  That date came and went.

Seller not much help.  Tells me it is too soon to request lost package trace.

Guess I will file with eBay today about lost package.

I need this steering U-joint for my Simca steering box (Corvair box).

I earlier had  bought another U-joint from eBay..  Listed as 5/8 x 36 spline like the corvair - vega box.  Wrong!  It is too large on spline end.  This listing did not mention Corvair , so that mistake is on me.

It has to be the seller or USPS because I have received my Ebay orders in a timely manner lately.

I drove to Norwalk Oh and picked up another transmission today. It's aT4 but it has some good parts for me to use.

I built a fire under the seller today.  I filed a complaint and requested a refund thru eBay about no product 6 days past expected delivery date, no tracking updates since May 4th.

I am sure this is a USPS caused problem.  What whizzed me off is the seller telling me I must wait before action is taken on his part.  I did not choose USPS shipping, the seller did.  We all know the delivery times from USPS is sketchy and the last 14 months it has been worse.

On flip side of that:  I ordered a Sweet brand steering U-joint thru Speedway Motors.  They have a store here , on west side of Phoenix in a town called Tolleson.  A 41 mile drive each direction.  BUT:  I have the u-joint on the Simca and the steering is working.  Needs some tweaks , but it steers now.

I went to the Liberal Ks. car show today. The numbers were down. I think there was around 300 based on how many came in after me and how full the park was. Most of my friends have been vaxxed. It's been almost 2 years since I have seen most of them. The weather was cool for most of us. I had a great day visiting with friends and new people I met. It was close to how it used to be. :) I cleaned up the truck when I got home. It was covered with large black bugs that took some effort to wash off. It's ready for next weekend. :)

Still recuperating from my eye surgery on Wednesday. This is the same eye that had a melanoma 7 years ago. Apparently, all the cancer surgeries I had on my face caused my tear duct drain to get plugged and my lower lid pulled away from my eye. Doc cut into my nose to put in a stent and reattach the drain, then pulled the lower lid towards the outside and stitched it. Believe it or not, that little stitch is causing all the pain.  At least the swelling is finally going down.

BTW, I found that being given general anesthesia causes regurgitating. I threw up after the first surgery in 2004, but I thought that was because of the radiation, but seems it's not. Fun times.  Gettin' old ain't for sissies.
I survived the Hyfrecator 2000.
