Same place it was sitting when I last saw it. That was about 7 years ago.

2 weeks today since my eBay package was last scanned by USPS...  I asked for a refund from the eBay seller again.  Ebay has been notified

Well, tomorrow looks like the day to light up the 383 stroker I built over the Winter. I can't find any more excuses to put it off. Hopefully it goes without a hitch.

I drove to Vermillion Oh. yesterday to pick up a mechanical speedo S10 T5 at a great price. Today I drove to Dearborn Mi. to exchange a warrantee 4L110 Ford transmission, called beforehand, and when I got there he told me he didn't have one in stock, so I have to go back up Thursday to get it. I 75 is all torn up for road repair clear from Toledo to Dearborn, and Shaffer road is down to one lane in each direction. It took me as long from Melvindale to Dearborn as it took me from Swanton to Melvindale.

I went by the Rouge plant and there were hundreds of new Ford trucks setting every where they could find space, on both sides of the road. Shortage of computer chips so they can't ship them.

My granddaughter works for Manheim auctions and said they are shipping used cars in from Canada, exchanging the metric gauge panels to Imperial so they can sell them in the US.

The exit to Shaffer road from 94 is closed for construction. I am thinking of getting off in Gibraltar and taking Fort street to Shaffer.
I am also considering Southfield road to Michigan avenue to Shaffer. Then I would only be two blocks from my destination on Shaffer.

Turned the 290K-miled blown DD key this morning and broke the car. Combo switch bad, full time full speed wipers and wiper part of switch feels broken. Heavy use for the last month with no end in sight. Cussed, switched cars, did the day, dug out the salvaged replacement I had cued up, then failed halfway through the job from lack of a T25 thats not in a socket. And a wrench to fit that bit. I couldn't drive out either one on hand (both in sockets) nor did I have a wrench to fit it if I did. The backup GT is not well suited to rain travel. Fingers crossed, eyes rolled.

I used the dremel tool, cut a socketed bit and hogged out an extra 6mm open end wrench. Fixed. Rain was light, GT did fine.  :)

Ordered rod ends for the 4 link on the roadster chassis. Found a 63 vette body from an ancient roadster chassis . Have to wait to see it as the owner is really nervous about covid. I really should complete the 12 step program for drag race addiction,

Slight weather change here...  I think 30 - 40 rain drops have fallen.  Kooler this friday morning

I made some final adjustments on the emergency brake controls on the 54 Chevy.  For the first time since the car was built I have an emergency brake system that actually works as an emergency brake system and not a half way working parking brake.  I am calling this a victory but a hard fought victory.

Overall I believe the brakes on the car are the best so far but I intend to make them better.

I started my 383 stroker today! I tried a couple days ago and had no spark, with a brand new Accell distributor. I took the module out of my old distributor and it fired up. Ran it for 20 minutes at 2000 rpm. Temp stayed under 200, oil pressure stayed over 50 lbs the whole run. I am so happy, this is the first real performance engine I have built, I have done several motors using mostly factory parts, but this one used only the factory block. Now for a test drive! 😀😀😀😀😀
